HTC Vigor err Rezound's battery life?

I was a little aggressive on the handshake... yeah I went in there a little hard..."

If you saw the video, it does look like he shoved him, and then Schwartz said that Harbaugh used some profanity. Speaking of Schwartz, every time I hear his name I think of Spaceballs.

^ i kind of like it

Me also Night. I am so sick of that middle bump they usally do with their extended Batts. I won't even use them. At least this runs the whole length of the phone. So it might not be bad using this. I couldn't stand the T-bolt one (even though i needed it)...Same with the dinc. A huge bump in the middle of the phone. finally something usable (maybe?)

I'd rather it went the whole length of the phone too, granted it's going to look like a phone with a gland problem but the case on this one has a ridged lip on it if I saw it correctly...

Yeah, based on the pic below, it doesn't go completely around. I'm not sure I like it with the lip. I'd rather have it taper off around the edges like a pyramid, and not a ridge.

Now see, I can see using that bottom "ridge" you are talking about. I tend to put my pinkie under the bottom of the phone when talking and since this thing is considerably bigger than the Inc, it just may fit perfectly for that purpose. It's still pretty fugly though

i have to say that may be the biggest battery i've ever seen in a 20th century cell phone...the battery itself is bigger than the freakin phone....

Sweet, I've still got my insert tray from my time with the Tbolt. Now if we find out that the old TV-out cable from the Inc1 works on here as well I'll already have half of my accessories!:D

Did anyone ever find out if a video out feature was available for the Thunderbolt? I guess that should've been a sign to me that HTC didn't want to commit 100% to the TB by not offering such an option when it was released.

I wonder if something like this would work on the Thunderbolt. For $125.00 shipped with the coupon code DNCOMP15, it might be worth the risk.

I haven't decided which phone I'm getting yet, but I think I will be going this route this time around in order to keep a slim phone profile without having to purchase an extended battery.

Smartphone Batteries & Battery Extenders - Shop Online Now and Save!

With one of these external battery packs, you are essentially getting more charge time for less money...a whole lot more.

It looks a little bulky, but it's better than the route I took, at least it connects to the phone and has a holster. With the thing below, it's like I'm carrying 2 cell phones...

Here are some more options. Basically, the bigger the battery capacity...the bigger the external battery pack is going to be.

Walmart.com: Xpal power XP2000 Rechargeable Lithium Polymer Power Pack for smartphones, Mobile phones, MP3, and more.: Computers
XPAL Power | Products : XP2000
XPAL Power | Products
These above at least give you a very wide range to choice from. You can go as small as a 600mAh pack all the way up to a freakin' 18,000mAh pack!

What size is that Duracell Powerhouse? I can't find specs on it. Their other two packs are 1150mAh and 500mAh.

This Rayovac is small too, but only an 800mAh pack.

I'm thinking the XP2000 and XP4001 are the ideal choices.

The one pictured above is a 2000 mAh which sounds right since I get about 1 and a quarter full charge out of it.

I can't remember where, but I read that the Vigor will allow for wireless charging which will be a good option since one complaint I have with all these spare charging options is having to bring along a charging cable for some options (One of the other reasons I find the charging case to be a good idea). I'm waiting for the technology to be there that allows you to charge your phone the same way you can charge some of those Citizen Ecodrive watches, via you walking around.

The pads need to come down in price though. I'd like 2-3 pads: 1 for home, 1 for car, and 1 for work (although unemployed right now :(). I've got a good spot in my 370Z, there are two flat storage decks behind my seats. I could wire it up to the car and simply leave it setting on one of the decks; then just toss the phone on it when I get in my car.

I do some searching on these too and see what I can find.

I didn't find this posted over here, so I'm cross-posting from the Galaxy Nexus pre-release thread, it looks like significant info to me!

Maybe off topic, but since I've mostly been obsessed with reading this thread figured I'd post here.

Waiting for the Galaxasaurus Nexy has been hard...

So, I jumped on the phone to Verizon and got an order in early for the Rezound and it arrived yesterday.

After moderate/heavy usage (its my new toy so probably I should just say heavy) my battery got to 21% when I plugged it in to sleep. It lasted 10 hours 14 minutes. Always on 4g.

Frankly, I'm a little stunned by how decent that battery life is! I honestly just got the Rezound to play with until the Nexus came out... but I'm really digging this phone!! Help talk me out of keeping it (or maybe don't?)!

Yeah standard battery.

Perhaps there is something to the whole faster to idle theory?
Also, I believe the Snapdragon S3 in the Rezound (while not as good as the 4460 overall) has some battery saving 5th core thats clocked lower? Someone correct me if I'm not remembering that right...

Anyway, if the Nex disappoints, I'm going to keep the Rezound. So far I'm pretty happy. If the Nex is what I think it is, I'll return for the pure Google experince.

No companion core in the S3. The reason it saves juice is because it runs the two cpu cores at different speeds and despite what Nvidia publishes that's an advantage that the S3 has that the A9 Cortex does not.

As far as not as good as the 4460 overall - that will have to remain to be seen and how you use things. The S3 at 1.5 GHz cpu benches out the same as the Exynos at 1.2 GHz, so while not as efficient per clock, it's plenty efficient to get the job done. I think there may be an edge to the media processing on the OMAP4 - but for practical benefit, all I can say is that the S3 can support _real_ 3D just fine, so it's not like a total dog.

I posted earlier that I had battery concerns on the Rezound, but your experience matches my phone if scaled. I was getting 18 hrs/50% battery at 1.2 GHz, light/moderate use, and easily go a full day with room to spare running moderate/heavy at 1.5 GHz -but with a smaller screen.

What really impresses me is that evidently Verizon's config of the Rezound did NOT end up borking it. I've been a broken record that what Verizon HTC users see and experience is not necessarily shared by the rest of us.

I'll be interested in your feedback after you've owned the Rezound for a while and then get to check it side by side with the Gnex! :) :)

What is your meaning of moderate and heavy usage? would give us a better picture.

Sure, I'll try:

Screen on about 5 of those 10 hours. Auto brightness. Gmail, calendar, etc all synced. Sent and received about 15 texts. Sent and received about 10 emails. Played music for about 3 hours (screen usually off). Browsed the web for maybe an hour total. Played Drop7 for 30 minutes. Played with my fantasy football lineup in the yahoo app.

Other than that I downloaded market apps and played with my homescreens trying out Sense (which I've never used before).

That was my day and I'd probably call that heavy.

FWIW - I've studied close to around 1500 pages of the OMAP 4430/4460 design documents - and I own an Evo 3D - S3 (overclocked to 1.5 GHz), 4.3" qHD screen (glasses-free 3D), etc etc - probably the closest cousin to the Rezound along with the Sensation XE (it has Beats, the 3vo has 1 gig of ram, like the Rezound, both are qHD rather than HD).

I'm excited because it looks like Verizon is finally configuring a Sense phone that really shows what the rest of the world sees in HTC phones: just works out of the box, without nonsense, and easily has a day+ of battery life under a reasonable use scenario.

Thanks for the info. Verizon having 3 major phones come out all at once is definitely making it hard to have all the information nice and organized. I'm glad I don't have to keep track of all these threads, I'd go mad!
