Hi Steve, I just bought a Y330, and I had trouble getting a Sat-Nav app running. I am not an android expert, but I guessed that the problem was the clock on the device (not the time and date showing on the home screen, but the actual clock used by the CPU). If I tapped the "determining location" button, it showed the clock set to 1/1/1970. What I did was download a GPS app, I used this one, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chartcross.gpstest&hl=en_GB. Switched on GPS and WiFi, and left the phone outdoors for a while. Now it works very well indeed.
OTOH, if you were asking simply how to switch the GPS on, then pull down the top bar, you should see a line of icons representing, WiFi, Mobile Data, Auto-Rotate, Bluetooth and GPS. Tap the one you want to toggle on/off. HTH
