Huawei Glory links, leaks, facts and speculation thread

1.what is the release date?
Can't comment
2.will it come in black, or white only?
Also black, and it's beautiful in black
3.what version of android is it running? (i.e. 2.3.3 or 2.3.4)
none of these - the one I have shows 2.3.5
4.is it extremely fast with no lag? It should be, but you never know. Some people even reported lag on the HTC Sensation.
Haven't used aggressively enough to answer
5.I don't think it's vanilla Android, so what is the "skin" Huawei put over it like? Does it have Swype?
Has swype (thank god). Skin is kind of similar to LG (?) with the cube rotation, and iPhone-ish in the side scroll of app list
6. Does it seem to have strong 3g and voice signal?
Haven't used enough
7. I know it has a glass screen, but do you know if it is Gorilla Glass?
Don't know

How's the led flash, is it useful for pics especially in dark/shadow areas?
Can you also use it for a light similar to what htc does?
Camera not working on my device, but just downloaded a flashlight app and this works very well
How is the screen, does it feel like its easily scratchable?
Don't know how to "feel" this
Does the ffc take decent pics?(if it is a ffc)
480x640, 72dpi, 24 bit depth, so yes, pretty decent
how's the sound quality on the external speaker(?) Loud enough to listen to music?
As well as the speaker for when on a call.
Oh and
How's battery life?
I'll try to test later

Now I am even more excited. As far as the screen goes uuuuhhhhm
Gorilla Glass is on the HTC Senstation to prevent scratches. From my experience I owned a Zio then upgraded to the Indulge and right away noticed a huge screen difference. Would you say the screen on the Glory is around the same as the Indulge or better(hopefully not worse)?

We should be posting this stuff in the leaks and speculation thread.

Screen should be better, it's higher resolution than the Indulge (I think) (854 x 480).

How about running Quadrant and seeing what kind of benchmark scores this baby gets?
And maybe try a demanding game to see how smooth it runs.

Not so much the resolution but the actual "glass" screen.

I'll PM a mod to move this to the leaked info.

I don't think the glass itself makes a difference in how the screen looks. The ones I've played with it was honestly hard to tell the difference. I had a Nexus s for a while, but I had to return it because I couldn't get 3g at my house.

Glass doesn't feel much different, either. Like I said, it's hard to even tell a difference. The main advantage of glass is it's harder to scratch than plastic is. Disadvantage is it can crack easier if dropped.

Another article about the Huawei Honor (GSM variant). No new information, but different pictures:

I felt a difference when I went from the zio to the indulge and an evo I had inbetween. Also between phones that I manage to get a hold (myt4g, infuse, sensation 4g that I bought for the gf etc.). They all felt different, screenwise.

Damn, I cant wait for this phone. Whats a noise canceling secondary microphone?
And why does it show two shades of black?

Now wondering if that was possibly someone trolling.
I thought about that too, but he had a thread asking about rooting the Samsung Vitality also, so i'm thinking he works for Cricket or owns a store or something. Who knows, though?

Here's another one for the Honor. What's weird is the sign says 0.3 mp ffc when everybody else says 2mp. Hopefully its just a typo. Also, from these two videos, this phone looks thicker than I thought it would. The screen quality looks nice, though. Deep blacks and nice colors.

Yea, I have googled the Huawei Honor before and noticed that the specs for that version is different from the Huawei Glory that is going to be sold in the American market. Hopefully the one that is going to be sold here in the US will be a bit better.

I would like to see that 3D cube scrolling they mentioned. Hopefully this phone is worth it because the Huawei Vision kind of got my attention, especially that 3D 'interface' it has.

A friend of mine just bought an Ascend II a couple days ago (Cricket) and with only a 600mhz proc, it feels just as snappy as the 1ghz Samsung Indulge another friend got on Cricket a few weeks ago. Seems Huawei is doing a good job milking the hardware for every drop of performance. Can't wait to see what the Glory can do.

What specs were different? Ones I've seen matched up (or I didn't catch it).
The cube transition thing its probably just like what they have on the Ascend 2, and is also an option on launchers like Go Launcher ex or LauncherPro.
The Huawei Vision is a sweet looking phone, but I don't think the Glory will have that kind of user interface. I actual want it to be as vanilla as possible. That makes it easier to get updates and custom ROMs. That lock screen on the Honor was pretty sweet, though.
A secondary noise canceling microphone is basically what it sounds like. It processes out background noise to improve call quality.

^
Also, the article I have linked in the first post in this thread has a picture of the cube transition effect.

Yea the 3D cube I have seen on the Glory but not on these Honor phones. I'm guessing that is one thing that is different?

I don't recall which sites but I can recall the cameras being different, just like you stated. I read that the honor will have 5mp cam but the glory will have 8mp and ffc is different as well. I don't know if both will record in HD.

Never messed with an Ascend II and I myself am not a fan of launchers. I have messed with roms that have the 3D cube and its nifty. Hopefully they can make a rom for the Glory that has that 3D interface from the Vision.
I found out what the secondary noice canceling microphone was right after I posted what was it.

The Ascend II has a nice launcher on it, I got to play with it a bit on my friend's A2. It has several page transition effects to choose from. I remember there being two different versions of the cube, a couple different slider styles, and one that looks like flipping a book page. I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple. It's also theme-able and comes with a built in link to download more themes. Didn't click on that, tho, to see what was there.
