what comes with the three tacos? If nothing then i think for value 20$ for 3 tacos maybe a little high. I often go to Lime Mexican Grill and get 3 baja or surfer tacos for 8.50. I know shrimp may be a little more expensive but surely not that much.

btw i love the idea of you putting this menu on here and getting feedback. I think that is a great idea.

$19.99 for Prime Rib is a great deal! Hook it up, Chef Ocnbrze. :D

I'm sure Lawry's ain't got nuthin on you! Good luck with Culinary school!

Pork Tenderloin Curry Stew with Basmanti Rice
This looks awesome (Ok more sounds but you get the idea)

I love steak too but I do cook a mean steak its hard for me to find one that beats mine.

Pork happens to be one of my favorites. I know there are not many frogs out there that love to eat pig (Kermit was a wussy) I would have have introduced ms piggy to a grill quick.

so when can I expect my meal? :D:D:D:D:D

Ps- does price include shipping and handling?

I voted for the ribeye, but I am a new englander, and I think your seafood prices are west coast biased. All your menu recipes sound awesome BTW. I need a weekend (non work, kid's sports, getting dinner ready) day to write an appropriate review of your menu, so look for it this weekend.:)

yeah i might have costed the tacos a little high. i do not want to really adhere to your typical rice and beans though.

maybe something like a creamed corn cake along with the side of red and green cabbage slaw.

not sure what you mean by west coast biased? do you think it is too high?

and just so you guys know, i'm using a price guide that is a few years old so i'm trying to go off that but keep prices current to today.

and thanx so far you guys have given a lot of ideas. tomorrow i will be working on tweaking the menu.

The menu seems to be very specific to a type of customer you wish to have. That is cool but just keep in mind that if you go other places this will have to change some.

For instance down south (southeast georgia) we are very picky about ribs they should be slow smoked and offered with a mustard base spicy bbq sauce or a tomato base spicy bbq sauce of course you need mild flavors for children and those with acid reflux issues. (Ribs should be falling of the bone tender)

Grilled Pork Lion with a Curry sauce served over noodles with garlic, oinion, and mushrooms sounds extremly good if I do say so myself (note: Grilled Pork Lion should be lightly to lightmoderately smoked with pecan wood.)

I also notice you menu has no Salads, no real Chicken dishes beside the cornish hen. no duck.

Also Prices are ok for a "Couple to go out" however for a family its really to expensive especially since there are no "kids meals" most families would not be able to go to your place. Just things to keep in mind as you do this. It looks like to me your customer base is White Male either Single or Married with no children who makes roughly about 50 grand a year. I myself would not be able to afford to go there as much as the food does sound good.

Island Jerk Ribeye..... Mmmmmm.... Menu looks good, prices seem fair compared to a lot of places I have eaten. Might try to add some duck, and rabbit to the menu tho. That always gets people attention, venison, or red stag accomplish the same...The menu looks good, but very comparable to most places

As far as price and value... cant really say if it was worth the price till after I eat :D! Some people would look at those prices and say its too expensive, and walk out... I on the other hand appreciate good food, and realize that ya get what ya pay for.... ya want dollar menu? Go to Mc'd's! :D

It was a toss up between the tenderloin pork and Jerk Island Ribeye but we went to a Jamaican restaurant for my birthday last year and I loved it so the Ribeye won out in the end.

I also agree with argedion, a bit more variety might be good (more salad and another chicken dish).

I've no idea if they're reasonably priced, but using the current exchange rate, that works out average over here. I took the Mrs and my son out last weekend and 3 courses for 2 adults and a kids meal and dessert cost circa

hey guys,
so looking into venison right now. how do you guys like it served? roasted, racked, steak, or stewed? thoughts?

thanx again guys.

Local stuff here i prefer steak, but you have to understand that the deer population is encroaching on local farmland growing a lot of feed corn. It's a problem, but the meat is less gamy. For 'free range' venison, stewed works better for me.

ok guys i really appreciate the responses so far. some really great ideas, you have given me.

gonna throw out the lobster dish. might do something with shrimp or even langoustine prawns. if you guys never had them, they are delicious. they are kind of like mini lobsters here is a picture of them:

it might be more pricey then the lobster, but the meat is more delicate and can sometimes be described as a cross between a lobster and shrimp but sweeter and briny as far as flavor goes.

What you have right now is 2 beef dishes, 2 pork dishes, 3 seafood dishes and 1 poultry. If you are looking for balance then I would take out one of the seafood dishes. You could also mix it up and take out one pork dish and one seafood dish to add venison and lamb.

yeah i was trying to go with a more of a seafood/steakhouse type restaurant with a tropical theme. i guess i should have set this up better. still playing with those ideas though. i am suppose to only come up with 8 dishes.

what about replacing pork with venison in the curry stew dish?

That actually sounds really good.

If you are going for tropical, then might I suggest doing a honey coconut marinade or a peach lime glaze for the Cornish game hen? If you want to go all out you could do a straight up tropical game hen roasted with oranges, mangoes, pineapples and bananas.
