Hyperion 4000mah battery and back just arrived!

Do you happen to know what the warranty is if the battery or the case have an issue?

Sorry, just saw this post from the other day. Unfortunately, I don't know what the warranty is and it doesn't seem to be listed on the Amazon page. For the $20 I really don't think you can go wrong even without knowing what the warranty is. I had to pay $80 for a Mophie on my iPhone and being able to grab a great extended battery for $20 take the cake in my opinion.

Well the extended battery came in the mail today. The case I ordered was not in the package. The battery has a 90 day warranty. It came at 51%. I put it in at 12:45 and now it is 5:30 pm and the battery is at 34%. The battery is twice as thick as the oem standard battery. The back cover is a different shade of pebble blue. The phone is much more comfortable to hold in my hand now.

Thanks for your answers in regard to my question about the Hyperion battery.
Has anyone had the issue of after closing an app and attempting to return to a screen that it goes blank just wall paper no icons and freezes?
Also how does one perform a factory reset?
Thanks for your help!
HJC

This happened to me once today. I had to do a battery pull and rebooted. Wasn't sure why that happened.

you were suposed to charge the battery at first till it was fully charged, then for 12 hours more after it reaches 100% (for the first time), but someone did what you are doing and theirs is fine , according to the amazon review, but that way is supposed to be wrong. According to a good way, charge to full, then charge 12 hrs more (suposed to only be the first charge), drain to 5% then charge (all these ways with the phone on, standby, not turned off, unless you kill the battery so the phone shuts down, then let it charge phone off). I dont know what way is right and wrong with these batteries, wayyyy too many opinions.

Best of luck, mine is doing good, I have to fight with the top end (meaning after my phone says it charged and to unplug, I unplug and replug right away, I do this a few times, and when I unplug the phone it stays at 100% for a few at least) on it but so far it is working great.

I ran a test on it just like the poster in my previous message and got 6hrs and 20 min so far. This was my second discharge.

These batteries are Lithium Ion chemistry. No need for any kind of discharge/recharge regimen.

Whats The Difference Between Nicad, NiMH and Li-Ion

I know that but this is what qcell. And the others recommend

A quote right from qcell on the Amazon site

All Extended Batteries require 5-6 full charge cycles to unlock maximum capacity.

This is what qcell sent me in an email

Edit

" The battery will require at least 5-6 full recharge / discharge cycles before reaching maximum capacity. In rare occasion it will need 10 cycles. If you still have problem, please let us know"

Just got my Hyperion 4200mah battery in the mail. Immediately charged it to 100% and let it sit for another 2 hours or so on the charger. Now I'm out getting ready to see the midnight showing of Resident Evil! \m/

They are probably having you fully test it for them before sending it back for any reason. If it is Lithium Ion there is no denying the physics involved.

.... There was actually a midnight showing for that movie?

I am more excited for the Blu ray release of Cabin in the Woods :)

How good was the new RE movie?

Like I expected it was pretty corny in some parts. Ever since the first movie they started to get progressively worse.

The next movie does look promising though and if you see the movie you'll know what I'm talking about.

this came off the mugen site, and my instructions that came with my hyperion says the same, please contact these manufactures and tell them your facts on LI batteries, then get back to us and let us know, PLEASE

FAQ

Dear Mugen Power Battery user,

Thank you! We just wanted to take a moment and thank you for buying this high-quality Mugen Power battery. We truly appreciate your business and hope that you enjoy using your Mugen Power battery.

"Charging Instructions and Battery Care
To fully enjoy the enhanced hi-power capabilities, You should initialize the battery. To do so, please follow 3 easy steps:

1) CHARGE BATTERY FOR 8-12 HOURS
For the first 4-5 charges, please charge the battery in the device for 8-12 hours using the mains power adapter and with device turned on (Important: For first 4-5 charges You should charge the battery for 8-12 hours, even if Your phone is showing it is fully charged already!).

2) USE DEVICE AS NORMAL
After each charge, please use the device as normal, until the device tells you the battery is very low, then recharge.

3) REPEAT 4-5 TIMES
Repeat this process for 4-5 times.
After that you can recharge the battery whenever is suitable for You, and just until Your device showing it is fully charged.
Important: We recommend not to try to switch on your phone if you reached 0% charge. This harms the battery, exhausts it's resource and decreases it's life cycle.

When using your device for longer periods of time (week or more) continuously on the mains power supply, please remove the battery or use the device on battery power until recharge is necessary once in 2 weeks."

and this

Q: Why is it important to initially charge the battery 4-5 times for 8-12 hours?
A: This process is needed to train the controllers in the phone and the battery to recognize new extended battery capacity. The phone needs to rewrite the capacity statistics so the correct capacity is reflected by the charge indicator. We recommend to keep an eye on the battery and if productivity declines, repeat this calibration process. More information on handling Lithium Ion batteries you can find on here at XDA forums and Battery University.

To repeat, they are having you jump through a series of hoops for them before sending a battery back. I am willing to wager the number of people going through that ridiculous process is less than 5%. Most people put the battery in the phone, plug it in and never have a problem. I can plug my Qcell in the vehicle, run Google Navigation, get to 100% and stay there. If you want to run through 1-3 above (and repeat 4-5 times) have at it. Happy training the controllers in your phone (whatever that means). :stupid:

Not to mention it is functional BS. Shame on Mugen. The apparent few that had Hyperion issues got a replacement with no hoops.

So the Hyperion case came in the mail. It fits the extended battery very well. I see no issues with any of the cutouts for the camera and other items. The case is a bit smoother than I wanted but not bad. I definitely don't see the need to use an exacto knife on the case. The power button and volume rocker are kind of hidden, blending into the sides of the case... Not a deal breaker for me though..

So I killed my battery down to 5% at 2am and I have been letting the phone charge ever since... How much more time should I keep it on the charger? It is now 8:30 am.

Edit - just took it off the charger at 11:30 am.

12Hrs after it reaches 100 But I agreement with the rest just use as normal and it will settle itself in.

Best of luck.

If that case fit yours perfect then you received the right battery cover with your battery. And I'm jealous cause I wrote to them and they just sent me another case not cover then refunded me on the case Good company but ... I would still recommend them.

It's hard to tell if the battery is as good as it is supposed to be, I just know that it is better than the stock battery.

I just wish I could find an extended battery case that has a kickstand.

I agree, I not sure either but like you said it is better than stock.

I also wish for a kickstands case for these,I don't know why they don't have one, they could build it into the battery cover and cut a slot on the case, no extra bulk either.

I am getting inconsistent results. For example today in under 2 hours I dropped 25% on the battery with medium texting, light browsing, and the screen brightness set to half...

You could have a runaway app.

Download a app. In the store "elixir" Open it, choose running. There will be two arrows one on each side of the Near top , choose the left arrow, left side, only once, this will be your running apps. I had 2 runaway apps on me , this is how I found them, some times you can press the app and kill it, others you have to reboot, but with nothing running, all should be less than 10%

If you don't and your still dropping Juice, and you have decent reception then try your original battery and see what happens.

Best of luck

Should I download Elixir or Elixir 2??

I have elixir 2

And i had a runaway Samsung driver again this morning, I have the application tell me when some app uses 40% or more CPU, works great. I had to shut phone down and restart for that one.
