I know: So what, right?
Anyway it was a piece if cake, just like you all said.
Just READ the instructions and no sweat. I am currently just running Rooted Froyo. Not sure what to do next. Try to install a ROM or install pre- rooted GB? Not sure yet.
I guess I can check the Guide and start Freezing some Verizon and Moto crapper- ware? Thanks to all who put info on this forum to help us. Newbies enjoy our phones more.

if you are on the stock .340 rom, and rooted with dx or d2 bootstrapper, just install the 2 part gingerbread pre-rooted deodexed ota, and then install a rom, and you dont have to worry about freezing moto bloatware :)

Could someone provide a link to clear instructions for ugrading to GB after rooting Froyo?
Im not clear what to do with the two files using the Droid X bootstrap App.
Thanks

Congrats on the root! You have to now use Droid 2 bootstrapper, not Droid X bootstrapper, to flash Gingerbread. Don't ask me why, but you have to.

follow the directions here. as it's an easy simple flash! :)

You are already rooted so its very simple. You download the two zip files for the gb installation and save them on your sd card. Install DROID 2 bootstrap app. You grant b2b superuser rights then boot into clockwork recovery ... the phone will automatically reboot into clockwork recovery with the app. Use the volume buttons to go up and down select install zip from sd card. Choose part 1...then install part 2. Reboot and you're good.

Thanks guys. I havr already purchased the DX bootstrap because I had read it would work with USB Debugging turned off??

Ok Im on Rooted GB. Now what?
Had a constant Droid eye bootloop at first.
I did a battery pull and no help.. then I wiped cache and it fired up normally.

I did another Titanium BU of User app and System. I then synched that with Dropbox.
I feel I have some more research and reading to do before I try out a different ROM but soon I think Id like to start with Apex?

VoidedSaint :
Were you implying ....if I install a ROM I won't have to Freeze apps because the ROM does that for me?

you can use dx bootstrapper to flash gingerbread, i did
and once on gingerbread just untick enable usb debugging and you can continue to use dx bootstrapper

Probably get more responses by starting your own thread.
Besides, its not very difficult if you read instructions.
Try to read as much as you can to cover all bases. Try to also be proactive and think ahead. Consider what you want root for and research what you can do with it.

1. Would this be a good time to do a Nandroid back up?
2. What does this do that Titanium doesn't?
3. Should I now flash the deodex file in preparation for future ROMs?
4. Can anyone suggest anything else I should be doing at this point?

I am reading alot but there is Sooo much here. Been watching Youtube also. Just don't want to skip any important steps.
