Root I cant get my GD device rooted!!!

It is getting so frustrating that i can not get my device rooted, i am not a beginner at doing this and every device they have to make some dumb a** way to root or flash your phone, i cant even get my phone to show up on my GD computer! do i need the ADB driver for Samsung or what am i doing wrong? the video was no help none what so ever because im still missing something so can someone please tell me why my pc is not acknowledging my phone thru usb connection. if i can understand that then maybe i can root my phone please help!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
 
usb debugging enabled? try a different usb cable? try a different usb port? uninstall and reinstall usb drivers? download kms.zip again to rule out corrupted files?
 
Yeah also when you plug your device into your computer you will get two notifications, one will say something like "usb debugging on" another will say "turn on transfer files" or something like that. You will have to turn on transfer files if you want to see the sd card folders
 
after installing samsung usb drivers and rebooting your computer, you should get a message that a new device has been found. It will do this twice, once when usb debugging is enabled and when it is disabled. If you have done this and still can't connect check your usb cable. I have a cable that works with Samsung Moment but it won't connect the Prevail. It will charge but nothing else. Not saying that you need the stock cable just there are cases when some may not work even if its the right size.

Oh.....if you try to root by using Odin your pc will find new device a 3rd time when you're phone is connected in download mode (power + volume down + camera)

My usb debugging is enabled, and i have installed the usb drivers, every phone i connected to my usb allowed the mass storage to show on my pc, so i doubt thats it that so i guess i downloaded it and i didnt restart my pc.... but any other time i installed the driver for my huawei ascend and my girlfriends kyocera zio it popped right up, so im just clueless on this....

samsungs arent as cheap as those 2 lol (no offense but yanno ;))

Just follow the instructions for the AIO. These guy are good n test their stuff throughly b4 releasing it.
 
ok i still cannot get my computer to acknowledge my phone? what am i doing wrong my usb driver are installed on the computer but its still not recognizing them, if i can get my computer to recognize my phones usb i can root, can some help me out on this problem?
 
Use ODIN to get your phone rooted if you can get it to show up on your computer. If you can't get it to show up make sure you are using the official Samsung usb cable sometimes the generic ones will work to charge but no data transfer. If after all that you still can't get it to show up on your computer you might have a hardware failure.
 
what exactly happens when u plug in your phone? u get a message saying its not recognized chances are its your cable or usb port on pc. if it was ur drivers phone and pc wont do anything. phone will just charge

yeah i had the same problem was irritated as hell. mines worked once for root then it wouldnt connect for shabbymod

and i do recommend odin. roots and adds recovery one crack.

all im trying to do is root my phone, everything else is irrelevant, i used odin and i have froyo now but it didnt root my phone.
 
Use my tutorial in my signature.
A lot of people are having Google Authentication Errors after rooting using Odin.
Mine is bullet proof.
By the way Google Authentication Errors wont let you download any apps or use any Google apps.
 
another reason to use odin.....one click is not 100% guaranteed to root phone.. many people have to try multiple times before getting it to work. read through the thread and u will see what i mean. i can't say odin is 100% sure but from what i've seen people have had an easier time with it.
