Root I cant see ext4 partition on desire!

Hello.
When I formatted with gparted my sd card (4 gb), and when was finished, I checked on my htc desire total space, and it says 3,69gbaltough I created fat32 on 2,69 and ext4 on 1gb?!

Where I am doing wrong? Thanks.

when you partitioned did you apply the changes in gparted before clicking ok?
check it again in gparted to see if the ext partition is there

also desire will not see the partition as a readable drive, it is linked to by a2sd or whatever solution you have aked to use the ext partition

I have double checked gparted steps, but let me check again.
I am pretty sure that I did all by the rules.

I am not sure if I understand you about app2sd?

I dont have anything on my htc (I mean programs), did you mean to download some program and to check for ext4, if that program recognize?

so, if you are not understanding a2sd+ what are you creating an ext partition for?

you wont be able to see it on the device without specific tools

I am following this tutorial
[Video Tutorial] Noob Proof Everything Desire Guide UPDATED [04/04/11][Video Tut] - xda-developers

And currently I am at the step five.

On that video, guy is showing his htc formatted on exact size which he was create fat32.(2:42 on the video) But for me is not that case. My htc is showing me 3,69 GB...
Maybe he has some tool and I dont? I dont know what to do...Now I'm trying with Minitool Partition...but in this program I can only see FAT32 on 3,69 GB...

minitool is dire
if you boot to gparted and the parition is still there then it is correct.
Gparted > all

use our guides if you are wanting support here, imo they are more detailed and answer a lot of questions

you still havent a clue as to why you want that partition yet and do not know what a2sd is.

you need to understand these things and thats why you are stuggling with that guide as it doesnt explain it. it just tells you to do it.

not saying i blame you, its a lot to take in but you will get more help here and we have more detailed information

I know what Im doing. I am creating ext4 for apps, because the internal memory is poor.
Yes, I quite with minitool it's sucks.
Now, I am using differnet method:
I put my microsd in adapter sd slot, and via usb interface I will give it a try.

I will notice you what is the result :)

Thanks.

P.S. Could you give me YOURs tutorials? :)

the reason i questioned is because if this
I am not sure if I understand you about app2sd?
so you are doing this to use a2sd which is fine, if gparted shows the partition is still there there is nothing for you to worry about and you can flash a rom with a2sd/data2sd support

our guides are in a sticky at the top of this subforum.

EDIT: FU again Dan
