Help I can't sync... argh...

Hey everybody, just got my Evo Shift 4G in the mail today and so far its been awesome except for one major problem... I can't sync!

I have tried on two computers... an XP Pro SP2 and a Win7 Ultimate.

On Win 7, I install the HTC Sync software from the SD card, then reconnect with the "HTC Sync" option instead of "disk drive" and it appears to detect hardware in Windows, and I think the sync software icon changes in the system tray. On the phone it says "connected" but when I click sync it keeps saying "synchronizing" and never does anything. Also in the software window it says "No Device Connected" ...When I double click the sync software in the system tray, it comes up with a screen that says "updating htc library" forever.

On Win XP, it appears to install HTC Sync correctly, but when I attach my phone in sync mode, it comes up with unknown "Android Device" driver which I can't find anywhere...

Help? I'd prefer it working on Win7 but either would be fine.

hmmm on my mac is syncs perfect, maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling from the computer. If that doesnt work data factory reset and then reinstall everything from the card. if that doesnt work get a mac, maybe???jkin

lol. yeah no can do on the Mac.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled the sync software (plus everything else that says "HTC" in programs list) 3 times now.

It does work on Windows 7. Make sure you are uninstalling the HTC driver as well as the sync program. You need to reboot after uninstalling. Theres a good walk thru on the HTC site.
