I have been flashing roms for a bit now since learning how to do it. Today I had a lil slip up and had to flash back to stock, now I am planning on going back to cm7. Now one thing I noticed before going back to stock , during the format process I have been getting this E: failed to mount /sd ext no such device exists when I go to wipe the dalvik cache, can anyone explain why I am getting this error and how it would affect flashing and if there is anyway I can correct/fix this. I am using a 8gb memory card but am not sure if this has anything to do with it. Thanks in advance for any help.:D

no that will not affect you flashing stock or cm6/7...so theres no worry!!!

Mine has said the same thing and I've not had any problem. I don't see the problem with the 8GB card either. Only time I'd heard of any trouble was when using Ap2sd and formatting when people were flashing to Icarus. Though they fixed that too I think. :]

yes thats been fixed, and alsosince isaac fix the usb issues with cm7, 8gb cards works flawlessly...:D

If it doesnt affect flashing, what does this affect?

nothing to my knowledge and i havnt had an issue...and if you look on any youtube video when peoples was flashing, you will see there's saying the same thing.

E: failed to mount /sd ext no such device exists when I go to wipe the dalvik cache: I think this means you don't have an EXT on either your phone or sd card, So there isn't one to erase?

Now you've got me curious. LOL. ^^.

Mine does the same thing with wiping dalvik but when I choose wipe data first it formats /sd-ext with no error..
