from what i know, it is a closed campus and you need to know someone on the inside to get a tour.

here are some stories about it:

and if you have not seen the movie, "the internship", i suggest that you do. it is 100% google and a very funny movie.

Exactly. It's not a tourist attraction, like Disneyland or something, it's a working private corporation.

Good story.

"She then put me on hold for a bit and back tracked that email response to Google support in India! (So basically the representative in India had no idea what she was saying). Lastly, she looked up my Adwords specialist linked to my account, and they had the day off… though I am sure that wouldn’t have changed anything anyway."

Well Google is a multinational mega-corporation with offices and divisions all over the world, and presumably Google India doesn't really know about the "tourist" policies of Google USA.

i just found out that we here in Los Angeles have a Google mini-duplex in Venice,Ca. my friend has been in there and it is supposedly a smaller version of the one up north. the policy is the same however, when it comes to touring it. i just found out that her friend's dad works for google in the bay area.....i'm trying to see if we can get a tour of it sometime in the near future.

The dessert statues are actually kinda in a public area, so I think you can just walk up and take a pic. Here's the aerial view of the dessert garden:

All you need to do is find a Visitor Parking space, and then you can walk to the garden. To get a tour INSIDE the buildings, you'll need to know an employee. They will sign you in at the front desk. Some parts of the buildings are restricted however. You'll know when you see the large signs "NO VISITORS beyond this point".

That's rather interesting. Thanks for sharing! :)

Also as a side note, most famous places will not allow pictures to be taken inside their gift shops.

For example, in an art museum they say no flash photography. It actually does ruin the painting a little, but it's mostly copyrights, and they want you to buy a poster from the gift shop instead of having a poster made yourself.

A lot of times places like Google do not want you to take pictures of certain items inside and out of the gift shop to keep people from replicating their products.

Wow...thank you for sharing.

I wonder if Google will continue plans for world domination. It looks nice so far. (I especially love the android icon appearing for almost everything, even decency.)

The Google Glass photos worry me, 'scanning'? I can only picture a Terminator with an Android logo on it's back one day. XD

our dreams of becoming cyborgs like the T-800 are dashed since Google has announced that Glass apps using facial recognition (which Terminator HUD does) are banned from running.
