I have a galaxy s2

I RECIEVED THE NEWEST (I THINK) VERSION OF THE SAMSUNG GALAXY S.
Until about five hours ago I had no idea about Androids or SD Cards or etcetera...Turns out my perception of my tech skillz is not what I thought it was.
After spending the day having a play around with my new phone I have come to many dead ends and my brain is full of questions.

My main question is how to sync my phone to my computer (it's a windows vista pc). I want to be able to share mp3 files from my pc to my phone.

I googled, facebooked and youtubed.

YouTube - Samsung kies wont connect my samsung galaxy s!? (fix!)
She was vaugely helpful until it got to the Mounting stage.
I have no idea how to get my phone to "Mount"...

Right now I am looking at my drop down menu and there are two outgoing tasks.
USB Connected
Select to copy files to/from your computer
USB Debugging Connected
Select to disable USB debugging.

In the video she says to tap "USB Connected" and then the phone is supposed to give you the option to mount but instead one of your green android robot thingos come up with the message
USB Connected
Phone connected to computer via USB, Tap the button below to copy files between the computer and SD card.

I do so. It loads for two seconds then comes up with another android robot thingo except it is orange and the message
USB Storage in use
Disconnect SD card from computer before disconnecting USB storage

My only option on that screen is to tap the "turn off" button below the message and orange droid.

When I tap the "turn off" option it goes back to the previous message with the green android image.

HALP (:

That's no help as that still requires the phone to actually download the file, s/he can't transfer large amounts of data to the phone via wifi or 3G (I assume your data package is unsuitable too).

Apps are not large amounts of data...are you telling me this guy's data plan is so limited he cannot even install apps on his phone without breaking the cap?

He said he could install apps on his phone through Itunes via USB connected to his phone.

In that case why even bother owning an Iphone or Android?

Connect the phone to the computer Once you hit turn on and the android is orange check "My computer" for a new disc drive which should be your phone. Treat it like a USB drive

What do you want to sync exactly? There are several ways to do it but if it is just music it is easier to just make a music folder on your SD card and drag and drop the files you want into it like you would with a USB card at first.

Besides that there are a few music syncing apps but I care little for music so do not use it much.

Thanks for the replys guys. My data plan is fine, but it's my signal reception that isn't. When i'm at home my 3g reception is poor, (but 2g is fine) and at where i work work my 3g signal is excellent. I don't currently have wifi set up at home, and since my 3g recepetion is so bad here, i was wondering if there was a way to install large apps or games thru a pc onto the phone, no wifi involved.

Thanks again

Ian

you really like spamming this link dont you?
Insult our intellect a bit more and throw in a link to playshool whilst your there.

Spamming? Why because I put it in more then one SGSII thread. Some people simply look over things & the SGSII threads I put it in were the ones going strong. Some people ask questions that can easily be found in another thread but they don't look so I put it one or two other threads. Is that spamming much? I don't think so. I'm not insulting anybody. Simply shared information because somebody might of wanted to try it.

Does it come with a screen protector by any chance? I think all expensive smartphones should come bundled with one, especially if a cheap Sony phone can.

You were definitely spamming it on every thread, like a bot. Same copy/paste job as well.

Like one or two other threads I posted it once out of the dozens of threads for this phone alone. Calm down. That's 3 times all together. So exaggerating. It's so many other links people have posted over again for recall or saving people time to go back and find it. Talk about the phone & move on. A damn bot really? Really lame. Do you know how long it would take to post in every thread. I contribute to every thread so maybe your confused.
