Help I have a problem!!

Okay, I would like to change my notification sound. Not to a custom, just to a regular preset sound from the list. I go to menu>settings>sound&display>notification sound>click ok on "vector", "teleport", etc but when I get a text message it just plays the one that it came with (I just got it yesterday)
I think its weird that it wont let me change it from the list. Does anyone know what to do?

Thanks alot! Why would I have to do it from there though, how come the one from the settings menu doesnt change it?

Notifications can be for anything that appears in the notification bar (top left of the homescreen). Some apps like the sms app allow you to set a unique sound so you can tell the difference.

Because lots of people want a different noise for notifications and messages!
