I have an EVO Addiction...

good thread. yeah i have problems too. i barely touch the ps3 now... tv what's that.

every time we start a movie my wife makes the comment, there you go playing with your evo again. but but, i will just be a second.

15 minutes later i say.. can we start the movie over?

Hahah after reading some of the comments in this thread, it makes me wonder what can you possibly be doing w/ your phone that you can't put it down?? Besides email, making calls, txts, I'm pretty much done w/ it.

No wonder, you've underestimated your EVO and it has surely taken offense.

Mine makes me breakfast in bed :D

With every new toy, Phones being no exception, it is customary to play with it for a while. But eventually and inevitably, the attention you are paying to the Evo now, will be replaced by the next best thing that comes along.

It'll get serious if you as women start going shopping for shoes, clothes or other accessories that absolutely have to match your Evo, or if guys go shopping--when they go shopping--do the same.

I still prefer my computer for email and things, though the Evo, when I'm on the go, is handy to have for things like recipes and you forget what ingredients you need to buy for that particular dish, you can look it up right there. It has its place.

Naming it, a thread now locked, and an Evo meet, another thread now locked, is a serous indication of one's transference of affection to an inanimate device.
With that being said. I can put the phone down and even turn it off. I don't like leaving the house without the device.

With that being said, I can find many uses for this one device and am glad I have it.
However I must confess, when I first got it, the days following, I did spend a lot of time with it to learn it. It doesn't replace everything but it does replace a lot of things.

I was at work the other day showing everything I can do on ky Evo. He was amazed at how many computer-like functions was on the Evo. I showed him the browsing, apps to edit music tags, play games, download music and even create beats. I mean I personally do just as much browsing if not more on my phone I think its the convenience of it being so portable. I can walk around my house w/ WiFi flicked on and just carry on about ky business. As opposed to my desktop which is restricted to the one room that its in.

I loved my HTC Hero and I used to it up to the very last day I had it before getting the Evo... but I haven't quite found my self getting bored of any Android device that I had.

I pick up Kobe (My evos name) just because sometimes I want to hold him.

I think we need to have an evo addiction twitter group and set up 12 step meetings...

I'm addicted to tweaking my phone and checking it for no reason :-D

This one made me laugh...'cause I do the same thing. I remember the brick phones and how I was NEVER going to use computers on a daily basis. I was also the guy that would NEVER own a cell phone (after my brick) for who needs to be in constant contact anyway. Now? I am the tech guy/computer guy in my department, compute almost exclusively with the cloud, and read about the latest tech gadgets constantly. I very cool world, with my EVO being one of the things I just enjoy using. I wish I could see what technology will be around in 100 years or so.

How old are you that you have to sneak around? I am constantly using mine as well...Im also addicted..I have had it for about a month and a half now and i love it!!! Im always using it at work and at home...I can only use it in between calls at work though(i work in an inbound call center)...I just cant get enough of it!

dont matter how old u are... you can still get the cold shoulder when you ignore the important people in your life.

put the phone down.. walk away...dont look back!
it will be there when you get back.

^^ welcome to the forum and the addiction club.

dont root.. if you want it to get worse.. the addiction that is.

Well after 13 months with our wonderful 1.5 Hero's my wife and I upgraded to the Evo yesterday. I just felt that after a lot of researching for several months that this would be the best one for us. All I can say right now is
Wowwwwww! Evo addiction! TC :D
