Maryland/D.C. area here. Woke up this morning and the update was waiting. I installed it but had to drive to work so I will have to play with it later.
 
I finally did the manual update, but leaving my wife's alone just to verify we will be the last to get it :)
 
Philadelphia, PA here, I got Froyo last night around 12:50 AM!!! I was playing Call of Duty, before i saw it haha. I was like a kid opening up his first Christmas Present, i was beyond happy haha.
 
Fiiiinally. Woke up this morning at 07:00EST and nothing, drove into work and as soon as I got here at 08:05 popped the phone out to put on my desk and it said the update was ready to be installed.

10 minutes later (now) it is still installing. At 20% now, gaining approximately 1%/sec;)

True, but that has nothing to do with whether it's scripted. The show makes money and as a result, the people on the show get paid. The cast felt MTV was low-balling them, so they refused to film more episodes until they got paid more. That has nothing to do with scripts. It is sad that MTV caved though, because what those clowns make to act like idiots on TV really makes me embarrassed to be an American. It only makes it worse that The Situation is raking in nearly $5 mil this year from sponsors and side projects. Disgusting, but that's our country in 2010 (not disgusting, just that morons make more than the educated and courageous).

The show is not "scripted." Rather, it's very selective editing by MTV. That is how pretty much all reality shows are. Also, the producers will tell the people on the show to do certain things here and there, but for the most part, what you see is what you get. The people on Jersey Shore may be "acting" to keep their spot on the show, however, so they may be different in person. If they weren't overly dramatic and what not, they'd have no appeal to MTV.

And just for the record, I've never seen a single episode. I refuse to help fill the pockets of people who should be flipping burgers at Burger King; not cashing in for acting like trash on TV.

They are definitely playing it up. Ran into the "Situation" at the local bagel place a few times in the mornings... seemed like a nice enough guy. Totally different than he seems on the show.... which to be honest I haven't watched except for clips on the Soup and Tosh.0 :D
 
Got it 9/1/10 at 12:04 pm installed and running by 12:21.
Observations:
swype, uninstall and re-install.
Stock program now updates charts automaticly
new buttons on unlock pattern
display seems more vibrant

I checked for an update and no dice, so I changed the date on my phone to tomorrow (Friday), quickly went to the check for updates dialog in system, and presto the update pushed. Froyo at last. NE Ohio.
 
i just got froyo. booyah. yeah, i said booyah...wanna fight about it

Hey. I take offense to that, Im one of those drunks in Seaside lol..

Unfortunately, if you live in the Seaside\Toms River area.. Constantly being around the 'Jersey Shore' cast is something you have to get used to.. I learned this when I would see them every night I went out, and when they started all showing up at my gym at the same time I do... DAILY.

I finally got my update. It popped up on my screen around 1045pm PST (I'm in Seattle, WA). Everything went smoothly. I ended up doing a phone wipe after the upgrade. Scrolling and such seems much more snappier. Phone seems clearer and signal is stronger. I have noticed one problem so far. Twitter for HTC Sense cannot login into my Twitter account. It says incorrect username and password. I verified what I typed in was correct but, still nada. Yet, I downloaded the Twitter app and input the same exact login info and it worked. Has anyone else had any an issue like this happen?

I am having the same problem. I can't log onto the Peep (Twitter for HTC Sense). I downloaded the Twitter app and can log onto that no prob but when I try it for HTC Sense I get the incorrect username/password. It worked fine with 2.1.

Twitter instituted a new authentication which broke the Sense Peep app. We will have to wait for an update from HTC unless Twitter changes something on their end.
