I have recieved 2.2 FROYO

I personally, have had S-OFF since release, and just downgraded back to stock recovery patiently waiting for the OTA 2.2 to come to my phone, I was on 2.1 anyway, so it isn't that big of a deal for me to wait esp. knowing it IS def coming, and that I WILL still have root after wards. unrevoked is the best.
 
If we are on a wi-fi connection will we get prompted for the update or do I need to be on 3G to get it???

I had a problem with my phone yesterday and the tech told me 2.2 would be coming to my phone either today or tomorrow so some of them do know about it.

Personally, i would say yes, because it is the only build that isn't pieced together from various places. It is custom compiled for the inc from the source, and should be the most stable of any of them (IMO)..
 
I don't know how the hell to do it either, that's why I created this thread, hoping someone else would know! :D
 
I made a new thread about boot animation with Froyo, and some enterprising Mod moved it in here. Not only is it a completely different topic, I can't find it here anywhere. I think actually reading the post before moving it would really be a good thing! :D

EDIT: Well, how embarrassing, it just showed up! But it is still a different topic! :)

Actually, it has been posted. And before you accuse mods of being overzealous, I speak for all mods, that if you didn't post in the wrong forum, it would not have been moved. There is a Support/Troubleshoot forum which would be where your thread should have gone. But considering your request has been posted, it was merged into one of these OTA threads.

I wasn't accusing the Mods of anything, I appreciate their efforts on behalf of the forum. The original "Boot animation" thread was pinned in the main forum for months so I thought that this was where the new one should go also, My Mistake! No biggie :)
 
So I spoke with support over the phone. Regardless what everyone is saying, the PDF clearly states "Verizon Wireless and HTC encourage you to download this
update today."

I tried to push this statement a little bit and at first I figured they would go for it offering a link to download the update or something else... of course nothing.

I'm betting this just means newly purchased phones will ship with Froyo. This is a perfectly reasonable assumption since the official build is ready. We only have to wait for our turn at the OTA ( Personally, I think I'll just take the RUU...it's the exact same as the OTA. )

Let me answer you before the vultures get you...the today you see in the instructions is the today that it hits your phone. Not necessarily today 8/26/2010. ;)
