Hey guys, as I wait for 2.2 and browse the forums, I've noticed a few guys talk about resetting their Inc's after they get the update. I'd like to know how many folks plan on doing this and why. Also what steps they are taking to back-up data prior to the reset.

It is 8:19 am in upstate SC. Obsessively checking my phone for update. NOTHING yet =[ I am so jealous ... I want it now!

If you are going to go through the hassle to do a wipe, you might as well upload the RUU and not wait for the OTA. Wiping is part of the install of the RUU.

The benefit of having it come OTA is that it won't wipe the device. To me, it doesn't make sense to wait for OTA and wipe. Do it now with the readily available RUU and be done with it. It's the exact same as the OTA...

9:10 am in Asheville, NC. Nothing yet. But, I'm not worried. My girlfriend has a Droid 1 and she didn't get her update until last Friday night.

I get terrible battery life when using this flashlight. I used it last night while snipe hunting. It was very cloudy with no moonlight, so I had to use the brightest setting. It only lasted 30-45 minutes and I started with half battery! It left me stranded in the dark with no light, and I'm deathly afraid of the dark... major fail on HTC's part.

Yeah... the above is complete fabrication... except for being afraid of the dark. :o

Got it this morning around 4am. So far so good. Just wish it didn't have all the bloatware so I guess I will root soon to remove!

BTW, I'm in NW Florida.

Just woke up, and Froyo was waiting for me!! Good way to start the weekend. BTW, i'm in northern VA if ya'll were still keeping track of location

You would think it would be regional, I did get mine the first day as soon as the store opened though. But with verizon, probably 100% random.

Nothing yet near Savannah, GA. Pretty sure the person that discovered Verizon's method for rolling out the update would win most awesome person of the forum... Except of course for the people who discovered they were at the end of the line, haha.

i gotta wonder if it is based of geographical location at all, or maybe the manf date of the phone. cause i thought I read somewhere that HTC was helping in the rollout. if so, would they go in order of manf date of the phone, figuring the people who bought it first would get it first? any thoughts?
