From what I understand reading other posts no you will not get prompted for the OTA.

Based upon the official Verizon update instructions for the Droid Incredible, your information is not correct.

They sold 200,000 the first two days it was on sale and then ran out of stock.
Maybe 200,000 more since. ? ? Just a guesstimate . :)

Has anyone been able to receive the 2.2 OTA that has downloaded the leaked interim OTA back in July that enabled the HotSpot and changed the start up splash to the specs swirl?

Make your assumptions :

X = number of Incredibles sold and activated.
Y = number of updates pushed and accepted since Friday.
Z = number of updates to be pushed each day, starting Monday

(X - Y) / Z = number of days until I get my update. I, and probably you also, will be in the last batch of updates.

BTW, the 2 dozen people who did the l33t rooting and ROM upgrades (including the 'official' RUU) won't get the OTA notification - but they will still occupy a push slot.

Woke up to the update ready to install yesterday morning. Haven't noticed any real battery life improvement but it seems snappier overall.

Here is what i got so far, after I updated using th RUU. I wont be for sure until Monday when i go through my normal routine.

Here is after I updated consistently on it installing apps, moving things around, and adjusting the phone with all the setting that I like.

Up time 8:05:24
Awake time 5:25:26
Android System
50%
Cell standby
21%
Display
13%
Phone idle
10%
Maps
3%
Internet
3%

Now here is what i have so far with no activity just checking about 20 emails as they come in, 2 txt messages, and putting her to sleep ( power button ) and setting her down. We are about a little more then halfway.

Up time 16:18:40
Awake time 39:56
Cell standby
50%
Phone idle
47%
Android System
3%

I think I can make it to 30 hrs easy, but tomorrow i will know for sure if i see an improvement.

battery life improvement?

Here are my observations. Battery life seems slightly worse. City I'd , amazon mp3 , vz nav, voice search remain active all the time even when I kill it with system panel. The programs just pop right back up in the list. Other apps that used to close out on exit remain listed in system panel also.
And, the battery takes about twice as long to charge. I am experiencing typing lag and choppy slow scrolling in the web browser. I think when everyone gets the update they are gonna see it isn't all its cracked up to be.

Otter do a factory reset should fix most of your issues.

For those you have received FROYO OTA, does it have voice dialing using a bluetooth headset? The one thing that most phones have.

My bad. I meant I want to know if it allows you to use push the little button on your bluetooth to voice dial.

Does that make sense?

That's what I'm wanting to know also. What he was trying to ask is Does bluetooth voice dialing work. That does NOT work with 2.1. The way to test is enable bluetooth, connect to your BT headset, then press the call button. It should ask you to state what you want to do, like "call Bob Smith mobile". It should reply something like "Bob Smith mobile dialing" and then dial Bob Smith's mobile number and complete the call.

When a lot of people got 2.1, they were a little dismayed that BT dialing (ie hadsfree) was not a feature, especially those in California were handsfree is mandatory.

So please, if anyone has either the OTA or has gone thru the RUU and has a BT headset, if you could test this that would be great. Thanx:)

Edit: Thanx Volcom1216:)

Was thinking about that. That wont revert me back to 2.1 would it?? lol. Was gonna try and tuff it out till everyone gets the update and see what the opinions are. not sure i want to spend the time to backup, reset, redownload all the apps i want.

That makes loads more sense, my bad. And I had noticed this problem too, but didn't think it was what you meant. Sorry!
