If you install RUU for 2.2 you should not get prompted, it's same version build #.

I am patiently waiting for the OTA to come through. I am hoping it fixes the problem I am having with not being able to use most of the blue tooth game controllers. I was told it would fix this, but being impatient and such can anyone confirm? If you don't have a blue tooth game controller, there is an app and such that lets you use a Wii remote... if the Wii remote works then the others should work too.

Nobody will be able to answer this with any certainty. Its all speculation at this point.

i know its senseless to do it but i've gone to the system updates in settings only to have it say 'your system is up to date' like 7 or 8 times.... I KNOW it doesn't work like that... maybe i'm just losing it.... wait a min... i should check it again

no need to check for system updates, the update will be nice and big on your home screen, with the update button highlighted.

Just because it doesn't help, doesn't mean some of us don't need to do it...

From what i hear it will be done by friday, if it is 100,000 a day then bye friday they can have done half a mil, cant see there being to many more Inc's out in the wild with the supply problems it had

This is based 100% off of grapevine rumormill type info.

Those numbers or rollout patterns were not disclosed by VZW that i know of, if they were, i would also love to see it.

Not jumping on you, just getting annoyed at how fast the rumors and speculation spread as if they were fact.

Well you kinda did sound like an *sshole, jk, lol. The 100,000 seems logical but your right there is no way to tell. I personally don't mind the rumors but to each his own...
All in all i CAN wait for the upgrade, even though it is highly anticipated.

Well hopefully we get a bunch more people reporting they got Froyo today (Obviously I would prefer me being one of them). No rumors of mass problems with the update yet as far as I can tell, so that is a good sign for continued progress on that front.

Tonight I've downgraded to stock 2.1, never updated my radio, and just installed unrevoked forever so I can hopefully re-root after the OTA. (fingers crossed)

I have a good feeling I'm getting it today. Positive thoughts people.

Not 100% related, but I feel it is slightly related to the update; or I've gone mental.
I've noticed that all weekend, my sleep time has completely dropped. I haven't installed any new apps in over a week and nothing is running in the background outside of the norm. I wonder if my phone is staying awake while it looks for the OTA?

As I left for work it was 20 hours running with 18 hours awake... I was asleep for at least 7 hours last night too.

Anyone elses wake time change since the weekend?

Got tired of waiting and flashed the 8/26 RUU, took about 10 min.
The biggest thing I notice is stonger wi-fi signal (wireless N ). Did a hard re-set and have not seen any of the bugs mentioned in some of the threads .
Had all apps backed up with Astro and got the phone set back up in about 35 min. The speed is also great. The best thing of all is I can get on with life and don't have to wait for froyo any longer, I have it now.

Has anyone received the OTA with a rooted phone and stock rom/kernel/radio? I don't see why just having root would cause you not to get the update. I'm leaving my phone rooted, too lazy to downgrade.

Still no OTA yet but I see barely anyone has gotten it anyway. Do they only roll out to like 10 people an hour?

Plenty of people have received it. Just because you haven't gotten doesn't mean that no one else has. Most likely a larger group of people will be getting it the next few days.

I checked the RUU thread, but did not see instructions.

Do I simply download the RUU to my SD card and then run the file?
