Just finished updating and from my 5 seconds opening up the internet and posting this I have experienced browser lag for the first time...D:
 
For those who have already received the update: besides the notification that pops up what other indicators are there that the ota has arrived? Does the phone vibrate or give any audio notification?

For me it seems that the only lag I'm getting is from posting a comment. Logging in and browsing seems normal, but for some reason when I post a. Comment here, it lags a bit before it actually shows up.

I wasn't using my phone when it popped up. After I unlocked my phone, suddenly there was the prompt for me to install.
 
does anyone know if the ota fixes the need to bump charge? Will the inc charge completely now without unplugging?

that's actually what many ppl are reporting and taking issue with. For a software update that supposedly improves our user experience, this seems like it could have been a given.

For me it didn't. I was setting.g an alarm when it just popped up and said there was an update. My phone was on full blast...the only sound was from the new droid boot up.
 
It has always taken awhile for my after I hit "submit reply" till it applies. I figured that's because of my poor reception. *sigh*
 
Well, my update failed. Probably because I was rooted and have a custom boot loader. I am unroot now. How do I get the OTA again. I didn't want to go the RUU route, because of future OTA problems?
 
Obsessively checking for system updates in the about phone menu finally paid off. When it rolled over to midnight I checked and it said a system update was ready to install. It said my battery was too low but let me continue with it plugged in.
 
Froyo also received, I posted in another thread. Came thru at around 2:15am. The persistent data arrow tipped me off that something big was being downloaded.
 
Well im off to bed to dream of creamy froyo goodness...hopin to wake up to a big bowl of it in the mornin...we'll see. Good luck to all of you. Don't stay up too late! And keep trying to capture that update.zip!
 
Just got it. Getting it installed as I am typing this. (3:25AM EDT)
Still being installed. (3:27AM)
Rebooting with HTC incredible screen. (3:29AM)
Droid! With red eye animation booting sequence. (3:30AM)
Screen lock appears at last. (3:32AM)
Upon unlocking the screen, I am now seeing white background with green htc logo on it. (3:33AM)
"Congratulation Your phone has been upgraded to version 3.something-something", followed by circling ring with percentage. (3:34AM)
Oh No! It thinks this is the first time I am using this phone again. It fires up keyboard typing tutorial. (3:39AM)
Yet another htc screen and circling ring. (3:39AM)
Main screen fires up again at last. I noticed "AM" sign on the clock on the upper right corner has shrunk a bit. (3:42AM)
And with that, Froyo OTA upgrade is done. (3:43AM)
 
It is 4am here in NJ! ...and I pull out my phone and it says "System ready for update!"...it had a pic of our Dinc and two green arrows in a circle....automatically tuned off and now its restarting with the droid eye....and it actually said "DROID" as it was turning back on! I am very excited but too tired to check things out! ...but had to get on and post, anyone else get this? Is it froyo or something else? :eek:
