such a noob dumb question i know. How can I tell if my system is up to date with the froyo 2.2? I go into settings, than about phone, than software information and it says android version. 2.2 is that the same as the froyo 2.2 or is this the software before the froyo?
 
i dont know if i have the 2.2 froyo either my int the setting it says android 2.2 but i dont know if it is the same if it dosent say froyo 2.2 i am brand new to this site

2.2 is Froyo.
 
thanks guys i know it was a dumb question and i appreciate the straight answer. I wasnt sure cause the day after i bought the phone my app store wasnt working and i want through a big or deal with a factory restart and update. But thanks again

Came in last night - left my phone on overnight - installing now!!!!!!!!!!!

Southern NJ - longtime Verizon customer (15+ years) - not that any of that matters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just got the OTA Froyo update as well. To be honest, I haven't noticed any major differences yet, but I'll definitely experiment more in the morning.
 
Jersey here too ... OTA came in early this AM as well! Have been leaving it on and connected to wifi at night a few times now, waiting! It's finally here!

"Froyo" is just a codename. 2.2 is the real name of the release.
 
Arrived overnight, applied this morning. Too early in the process to have an opinion either way, but my Quadrant went from 534 to 1149 so the signs point to a more pleasant user experience. :D
 
arrived this morning between 445 and 545. It just showed up. I have a west coast number, but have since moved to the east coast if that means anything. Im in Baltimore, Maryland (was from San Diego, Ca). Both my wife and I got ours this morning.

P.S. just started playing with it, icons look have more color (the ones for wi-fi, etc..)- nice to have the screen rotate any way now. Keyboard works better (I use only the stock one) supports multi-touch. Tons of more settings, still exploring. I dig the numeric lock for the phone as I have sensitive information on my phone and I don't want anyone just picking it up. Calendar seems to support more colors, I'll have to go back into settings to see...

** update, yes multiple colors are supported. :)
