So, this is what I show:

I have tried the latest (as of 12.19.10) unrEVOked to no avail. I'm sure some of you will read this thread and flame me for not reading some 300+ posts in a forum somewhere; the truth is that I have read them but the directions are too hard to follow by date: it's not clear what is out-dated where.

Is this configuration root-able by some means? I have rooted 3 Eris and 2 D1, 2 Intercept. The idea is not foreign to me. I am not, however, willing to stake such a wonderful piece of equipment on speculation. The rules seem to change every couple of hours. I would like full root to be able to use Cyanogenmod. At hboot,my sd image scan says no img available. Is that normal?

Any help will be more than appreciated; I will make sure your name is touted among the ranks here at phandroid!

Thanks in advance.

RUU is something I've not used, isn't that a replacement "stock" image? Is that basically flashing a different radio in order to work around the un-root-able-ness (It's a word now!) of this particular radio?

Thanks again.

that will replace the whole firmware it will still be 2.2 but a older update they came out with awhile back it will erase everything on your phone just so you know.

What?

An RUU is not the same as flashing a radio.

Thanks, but your tone is off. If I had known the answer, it wouldn't have come in the form of a question.

Please explain how one determines "tone" online etc...

gosh that drives me crazy. he is trying to help you. You answered your question within your question. an ruu is a stock image.

This is also the first time I have seen reference to a radio not being root able. Are we instead referring to the HBOOT issues with 2.02 and 2.10 or did I miss something in my week long absence? (highly possible)

Jersey posted one of the only ways to currently overcome this issue. After seeing the mayhem this root method causes I don't suggest it. I suggest waiting.

You know, maybe you're right. Maybe I mistook the "What?" at the top of his comment for rudeness and it wasn't meant that way. For that I apologize.
I also understand that, not knowing all of the terminology, it's entirely possible for me to answer my own question and not realize it.
Sorry if I stepped on any toes, and thank you for the help.

no worries...

it's confusing for sure. because the s-off s-on is stored on the radio I can see where the confusion is.

everyone else refers to it being the new hboot

honestly I never noticed unrevoked refered to the radios until you posted :)
