Root i love miui

I'll second that - sky bb is p**s poor.

2nd hi-jack - Anyone know how i can interrogate their crap router to get my adsl username and password and use my own router again

Don't think you can.
They lock their routers so you can't use your account on a non-sky router :(
I had to use their router for ADSL then use homeplugs for an internal network to a Netgear wireless router and use DHCP on that.

There are ways round that. You can hack the router or attach the sky router to a old wired router you have lieing around to utilise WiFi.

I have done both.

@mattb - yeah thought about bridging to use stronger signal from my own router but would rather just use my own in the first bloody place! Had a serious argument with sky over this as they didn't mention I'd have to use their kit when i signed up  - call centre staff were pretty clueless anyway.

Has anyone tried this to get the username /password from sky routers?

Yep, found that but I got a D-Link router from Sky which seem to be what they're using these days and there isn't an option for that. Have also tried backing up router config and then doing a search for @sky to see if i could find ADSL login info but no joy, text string doesn't appear in cfg file. Added to their throttling policy means I'm probably going elsewhere for bb.

Have to throw my 2p's worth in:D I have had Sky BB for over a year and it has been the best in the 10yrs I have had broadband, lost service twice go that time for a few hours tops.

as for throttling speeds, doesn't happen with me and I would know as I left O2 BB for that very reason. I was under the impression that Sky was one of the few that are truly unlimited.

AFAIK You will lose your Sky account if they find out you got hold of the password.
Unlikely to happen, but fair warning.
