Root I may have figured out rebooting issue, Esteem

I know several treads are made on this topic But I have been working very hard on what causes this problem, I have read all related topics, of it, ZVC in my honest opinion does not fix the problem, it just prolongs the reboot, I have tested alot of things that I know how too. and its the fault tolerance in the uicc, my phone does not reboot on 3g or 1tx, I have changed some settings in LTE and since I have done this, which slows down my network cap from 1.3-1.8 to 950kb to 1mb i have not had one reboot, I changed the settings back and reboot when I have alot of things running. only thing I can think of its the uicc has a low fault tolerance.

Anyone care to help clarify? and if any coders out there can configure the uicc to have a set cap vrs the tower. I work with windows coding and dabble in others.

Everyone this is what I did. This fixed my problem.

I don't take responsibility if u screw something up

I used
1. Any cut

go to

1. lte configuration
2.Apn manager
3.apn protocol
4. i tested all the IPv4,IPv6, IPv4/IPv6, I do not reboot on IPv4/IPv6

Again this fixed me. And my forced reboot

I have been watching my networking and no spikes but the setting doesn't stick when rebooting I am no coder by any means but I work in desktop and servers, and know about how things work. or should,

For the longest 4g is been the primary suspect of reboots. I read an email i was sent from corporate and they claimed they've identified what's causing the reboots. Ima throw this a them with a question and see what they say.

I hope so, but Its not very fast at all maybe replace the uicc card, but metro says they dont do that. I am going to be calling LG monday and go to a corp. store on my lunch break. to see about a newer uicc card

so then if its not possible to get a new card wats ur suggestion gonna be like will PG be able to fix this problem

If I can get a new uicc card I am going to test it and see. I dont have another esteem so I dont know which is why I am asking others to test., for PG I am not sure hes super busy. and until its clarified from him I dont know. he put in a message ^^^^ up there so he knows about this post.

dam dude cause mine shuts off or reboots when it comes to traveling around u know and then also when im not using it it reboots so im guessing it is the 4g falure and plus is it possible a battery can be defected cause my battery heats up then reboots

The esteem is not designed to take an uicc card other than the one assigned to it. In other words, a new uicc card wouldn't work. The first phone with replaceable uicc card is the samsung attain, a cat3 phone (category 3), on the attain, if lost the card, a new one can be paired to it, and when an attain is replaced, the same card can be used on the new attain. From this point forward thats how they're going to build lte phones. The esteem's and indulge's are not replaceable.

I tested the battery Idea, the batterys well mine "2 extended and the reg." are rated to heat up to 131 f. i called the manufacture and thats what they said too. when i talked to LG about a fault switch for the battery temp they said it would power off and not reboot and wont turn back on til the temperature was 87. this is what i was told. havent tested it out. my phone wont heat up that much by just use.

hmmm... any way to not replace a phone and get the uicc? dang man I am already on my 2nd esteem, the last one had a glitch in the touch screen and no texting delay for hours.

you can try and do what i did, I will not tell you how and be responsible for any problems that may come., also if your phone is over clocked to 1.8 like your stats say you may want to lower it when to 1.2 or 1ghz or w.e and see if it helps I had that problem at 2.0 my phone runs it but reboots when i play a game. so i play games at 1.8., it reboots if i set beyond 2.0 each phone is different

No, as stated, u cant pair a different uicc card to the esteem other than the one it came with (at least not at corp lvl)

...and the fact some esteems than can be overclocked higher than others (mine can only go up to 1.8ghz w/o powercycling) tells me it could be faulty cpu, but im no hardware expert.

just like computer cpus some depending on manufacture date fault tolerances are different I use to have the same graphic card as a friend his was over clocked 5 points past mine i could never reach his, but but my first esteem would max out at 1.7 try the older 2.0 kernel it was built differently see if that helps

How are you changing the speed?

How are you changing the speed?

after vday I will write you a PM telling you how, if you wanna work with it its using anycut and LTE settings, its one of them, My gf refuses me to be online til after vday.

I didnt post it in here cause I want to have it tested before i do so.

Were you sneaking online now:eek:

Appreciate the effort you are putting into this. Have never had an issue with rebooting but know plenty that have and still are. 1.9 max for me and then crash and burn:(

BTW Welcome!
