Root I need a cwm developer

dd
is the name of the command youre using, so that then a space

if=
is the input file, what you are making a copy of, no spaces allowed here till you get to the.next item

one spacw in between if=whatever/you/are/copying and of=

of=
is the output file, where youre copying yo and the.filename you want.it to have when copied

the if=
should be either

if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery

or

if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.2/by-name/recovery

if they use a by name format and havent changed stuff around too much. that has to be exact, the.only thing you can change is what comes after the of=

of=/sdcard/recovery.img makes a copy of the thing pointed to by if= on the sdcard and names it recovery.img. of=/cache/recovery.img keeps the same name, itll still be called recovery.img but will be placed in cache not.in the sdcard. of=/sdcard/newname.img makes it go to the sd card but be named newname.img. and of=/sdcard/newname.ext changes the file extension, itll still be on sd, still be named newname but it will be a .ext file.instead of a .img file

that being said, dont modify the commands i gave you, you can toy around with dd later if you like but right now itll just be easier to use the commands i wrote up

dont replace anything, use them as is, i gave you the possibilities the only thing that changes is msm_sdcc.1 or msm_sdcc.2 and /boot and /boot.img or /recovery and /recovery.img

the rest of the paths should remain untouched

/dev/block/platform/*/by-name/*

only.touch the stars, and the first star has to be msm_sdcc.1 or msm_sdcc.2 the second has to be recovery or boot, then when you change the second to.recovery make.sure of=/sdcard/recovery.img, and when its boot change of to /sdcard/boot.img

dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery of=/sdcard/recovery.img

dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.2/by-name/recovery of=/sdcard/recovery.img

dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img

dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.2/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img

those are your only 4 options, try all 4 exactly as is

this was a zip file... had most of the right.contents but not the kernel and the offsets which are the.most important pieces

you are getting closer to what i.need but it doesnt have the two key.components, you gave me everything but what i needed sadly. the dd commands as i wrote them should create recovery.img and boot.img, upload recovery.img it will be on your sd card

thats a folder, not a file. that is the issue. if it copied to a folder you did the command wrong

of=/sdcard/recovery
may result in a folder

of=/sdcard/recovery.img
will make a single file on the sdcard named recovery.img, you wont be able to.open it or anything, that is what i need

if its a folder, its not the.right thing, if its in a folder, its not the right thing, if its not.named "recovery.img" exactly, its not the right thing

it will be directly on the sd, so when you go to upload and it brings up the.menu you should just have to find the file called recovery.img thats it thats all, no zipping needed, no searching around, just recovery.img directly on the root of the sd

what is the file.size? if the file size isnt 0 thats right. as i said it wont open right.on the.phone, you dont need to open it you just need to get it, should be about 16mb or at least like 4mb

if the.one you have is blank then the command didnt work right. did any of the dd lines not.tell you it cant find the file? if the first one you do doesnt throw a not found error use that one

It wasnt in the binfile
