I know this is not a new problem with the Desire but I am almost wore out trying to keep my internal memory up. I do not have a lot of apps and am always round 20mb free. But now with some cool apps out there like Swype I need more space is there something I am doing wrong here ??

Ok... three options.

1 - Are you running froyo 2.2? If so use the move apps 2 sd card feature to free up some valuable space. If not, skip to step 2. Or I can talk you through how to update to 2.2

2 - There is a process which is in my signature (the last one) which is a process that allows you move all apps as opposed to just the ones the developers / market allows. It is very safe, quick, easy and doesn't require rooting.

3 - Are you rooted? If so read on, if not do so. Then once rooted, you can flash a rom with a2sd which allows you to store much more data than number 1 (like some cache) etc and will free up lots of space.

Ask for more info, see my sig or user Danfrance has some particularly useful and good FAQ's on this subject.

mmm cant seem to get this to work. I down loaded the file and extracted it to my desk top and then got the latest Synck from HTC and tried to fill out the Com prompt but nothing ?? I think I might be having trouble with the apk file but cant seem to solve this problem.

If your having memory problems I'd seriously consider rooting your phone. I had the same issue & I put off rooting as long as I could but finally decided to take the plunge. It's not really all that difficult once you come to terms with it & there's some really helpful guys here on the forums that really came through when I was doing mine.

I did try the trick to move all apps to SD without root but still found I was low on space.
