Root I need help un-rooting!

Hey guys, I've been trying to do this for hours and can't get it!

I downloaded the file PB31IMG.zip from a few different sites. I'm using a mac and watched videos how to format my SD card. When I click 'Get Info' it says 'MS-DOS (FAT32).' The zip file is the only thing on my SD card, and when I run into HBOOT I get:

sd checking...
loading...pb31diag.zip
no image
loading...pb31diag.nbh
no image or wrong image
loading...pb31img.zip
no image
loading...pb31img.nbh
no image or wrong image!

I have S-ON, (i'm not sure why but i think it's supposed to be this way?). My radio is 2.15.00.07.28 (not even sure what that means). I don't know what else to try. Do you guys have any other tips or ideas? Thanks very much, and replies are greatly appreciated!
 
I'm downloading the first mirror on that site, thanks. How do I check the md5? (Don't even know what that is haha). And yeah when I reformatted, it cleared everything out. The only thing that sat there was the PB31IMG.zip

edit: just read how to check the md5. will check and let you know!
 
The first mirror won't open in safari for some reason so i'm trying the second. Also I downloaded the md5 thing but it's not working on my mac. i hope i don't have to stay rooted blah. anyways will update in a few.

there's an app in the android market called "mand5" try that. It takes a few minutes to calculate and kind of freezes your phone but it works.
 
I did the mand5 and got it, it's totally off..

should be: 31BB1611A0FA8197D447C0438426717E
mine is: 96171f798ce086b5e9fbda9496b6e265

not sure where i downloaded it from, but the two mirrors on that page did not work :/
 
Something's amiss. The 2nd file is mine and the first is Doug Piston's. Both have been MD5 verified to match the official stock Rom. Maybe its something with the Mac idk.
 
Try downloading directly from your phone, and use astro to move to the root of the sd card if the browser creates a folder.
 
I'm downloading it on my moms dell and I'm attempting to do it from my phone but it says I don't have enough room on my SD card? I have two pictures and like maybe 15 songs haha..

Sounds like a sd card problem then, the card is corrupt, partitioned somehow or formatted weird, how much space does the phone say is available on the card?
 
I formatted it before a few times for it to say MS-DOS(FAT32). Total space: 1.86GB, Available space: 1.77GB
 
Deleted the pictures and the music, and it's at 66%. It's done on the dell. Hoping that one of these two fixes it! Crossing my fingers.
 
Edit: Okay I tried both downloads. Both don't work. Did the ManD5, and it's correct! Is the SD card the problem? How can I fix it :( I'll try to format it on the Dell.
 
Ah wait I don't think I can :/ It's a netbook and it has the big SD card slot so mine is too small to fit? Unless there is a way I don't know about lol
 
I have seen where just some SD cards just plain old won't work. If you keep having issues I would try another.
 
How much is another card? I'm running Virtuous v3.1.0. and don't want to miss other updates from Verizon. I know they all update it similarly though.

I guess I just wanted to unroot to start fresh again, but it sucks to know I can't if I need to send the phone back.

you can unroot. New 2gb sd cards go for about $10. Since you have access to a windows computer, I'd try the ruu method. Info on how to do it is on doug's website.

mine has a lot that takes sd card, but you need the adapter. also un-rooting is very simple. put the S-ON onto sd card, flash via recovery, then run your RUU of choice, although the nov. update version 3.26.605.1
