Root I need help unrooting my HTC Evo 4g

ok so here is the deal.....whenever you flash something, the file you used is no longer needed....so it is not necessary to keep it on the card. it is up to you if you want to delete it or not. however, like mikey suggests you might want to keep it on the card if you have the room that way should something go wrong you can always re-flash the rom and not worry about transferring the file back to the card.

also another good thing that mikey suggests and that is to keep your nandroid backup on your card. this is also sort of the same reason as the .zip file. if there was something to go wrong you can always nandroid restore back. just remember that nandroid backups are your friend and they have saved me many times over.

and by the way, CONGRATS!!! on flashing your first rom and for getting your phone activated.

one last thing, now that you are activated, its time to do some reading. please read this guide:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all...ooting-dummies-guide-gingerbread-edition.html just skip the rooting process and head on over to the after root section. there is tons of info there that you should know.......i would highly recommend that you take the time to read it.

also please feel free to ask questions here if you like.

I appreciate all the help! I have been out of town and just got home so I was not able to respond.

I have a REALLY stupid question.... I think something was missed when I did this and now I am a little bit scared because you said how important the nandroid backup is.... I never saw anything that said nandroid.... also... when I clicked backup it didn't give me options like when you said to select the first three.... so did I miss something? It said backup complete but.....

I am very excited to be done with my daughters phone... now I will do some studying for rooting my phone.... LOL.... I will try to learn more before dI pester you guys to death on my phone....

Thanks to all of you. You are so very awesome.

first off please feel free to pester mikestoney as he deserves it;):D

and second ask as many questions as you like.

third there is no such thing as a stupid question. (actually the only stupid one, is the one that is not asked);)

and finally what you did when you selected backup is to make a nandroid backup. it does not say it in recovery, but that is what you did......so you are all good.
