Did you have 2.2 stock before installing cyanogen, or 2.1? Just making sure, so you have the updated radio.

Otherwise, download cyanogen manually from their website, mount your SD card from recovery (in recovery: "Mount and unmount partitions", then "mount USB storage"), move the .zip file you downloaded onto the root folder of your SD card. Unmount, (wipe data/factory reset and cache partition if you haven't) return one menu back in recovery, "install zip from sdcard", "choose zip from sdcard", select the .zip file, install, reboot.

(if you know where ROM Manager placed the ROM .zip file on your SD card, go ahead and access the .zip file from there)

A phone stuck on recovery mode may possibly indicate an incomplete install, which is why I'm having you install it again.

Other options (if necessary)...do a Nandroid restore if you made a backup or load a more stable Rom from SD like Virtuous for example. If you go this route, be sure to wipe data/cache in Clockwork directly before the Rom load.

i had 2.2 after i rooted using unrevoked i went to the rom manger and download i think it was cyanogenmod nightlies , after the download the ask me to wipe out and backup .. i did both of that and the phone reboot into recovery mode . the clockworkmod recovery and when i click on anything on there it just made the screen blank .

What exactly does that mean?

i downloaded the cyanogenmod nightlies from the rom manager and when i was ask to wipe out and back up i check both of them . then the phone reboot into the hboot .. and i hit recover which brought me into clockworkmod recover and i can't get out of that screen

Install zip from sd card, chose zip, install. If you don't have a rom on your sd card you can do 1 of 2 things. Connect via usb on the recovery console and download it from your computer (I'm sure you have one downloaded, right?) or pop out the SD card after you turn your phone off and put it into the computer and copy the rom to it.

I was going to say sounds like he might have an SLCD version of the Inc.

OP have you ever been able to boot into Recovery or better said ClockWorkMod Recovery yet? The mostly black screen with green writing?

When I first flashed the recovery I had the slcd issue, and had to dl a different version.

Then, when I tried to use the rom manager, it said it wanted to flash its version of recovery to work. I let it do that, but was back to the same slcd issue. So I reflashed with the right version and ditched the rom manager.
