Root I need help!

ImCharming

Newbie
Hi, so I've had my TB for a few months now, it's been great.. No problems. I've been getting that firmware update thing and have been rejecting it since I read it will screw the phone up. I read that the only way to solve this problem is to install a new rom.

I rooted the phone so I know all about that. I have no idea about this rom stuff though, I don't know what I'm doing, I don't know what I want.. I'll lose everything on my phone right? I can move to the SD card right? can I save everything like even game saves?

What am I looking for? I want a simple UI, similar to what I have now. I'm on 2.2.1 I don't know what I should upgrade to. Is there a how to install roms for dummies, that is really up to date? do I want one that just came out, or do I want to wait. Do I want froyo or gingerbread. help :(

Thank you

You can use the stock rooted rom which is still froyo, if you want more features beyond stock you should go to gb if you still want a similar interface then you should stick with a sense based rom not AOSP

If you just want to stop the update issues you McCann download the ruu here after checking the md5 sum to verify put it on the root of the SD, power off the phone and boot into hboot by pressing down while powering on and the it will prompt you to update do so then reboot when prompted. That will get you on the current firmware rooted with the most current radios

wee little bump? I'd also like it maybe if I could get better battery life out of a new rom.. Thanks for all your help, and sorry for my ignorance.

I've never heard any say they are using Fusionbread. It is based on an old version of BAMF, or at least the XDA linked one is, and it doesn't appear to have been updated since the OP so feel free to try it but being a work in progress with no updates it looks abandoned.

If you have questions about Synergy McLabia would be able to answer those questions

Theory has good roms, I personally do not use sense roms so there isn't much I can tell you about what is different between each.

Regarding battery life, I've always gotten better battery out of roms than I did stock, I think part of it is an AOSP thing and the difference is CPU speed and voltages also plays roles.

One more thing, there is no need to be sorry asking a question on a help forum is using the resources you have properly:D
