is it possible to change the boot animation of a custom rom?I believe so.

Here's a thread of some for the evo 3D. I'm not sure if there would be a difference in flashing these on the Evo V. I think it would work. Not too sure, would need someone with more experience to help you out.

You can use a file manager or your pc to change them manually.
In most sense roms, it is located in system/customize/resources/SPC_bootanimation.zip

I don't think a sprint one will work with Evo V without at least some tweaking. I think they use different file names for the animations and the file name is important for this. But to answer the op, you should be able to change it no problem. Just need to overwrite the boot animation with a custom one.

If you look at the user reviews, The 3 that have tried it with our phone says it doesnt work.
Please dont post suggestions that arent going to work.

It works just fine. The people on the reviews most likely don't have root access.

2 of them mention root access, So Idk. Just figured Id point out that the people that have tried havent gotten it working.

The location of the boot/shutdown animation and sounds files is actually a little complicated on the Evo 3D/V. It can be controlled by the /system/customize/CID/default.xml file if that's present, otherwise it depends on the type of ROM installed.

I've gotten it to work for me on multiple roms. I wasn't trying to mislead anyone.

I didnt mean to jump on you about misleading anyone, But you gotta see it from my POV. Ive never used the app and just looking at the reviews, seemed interesting enough to point it out.
