Root I need some help here quick

So this morning I was just playing a game on my Esteem and then out of nowhere my phone blinks off. This happens rarely though and when it does I just turn it back on :o BUT! This morning I tried to turn it back on and to my suprise it blinks back off after the MetroPCS logo. Now its done the same thing 5 TIMES now and I got NO idea what to do!:( Please HELP!!

I've also had the ZVD_Speed_Unlshd_1.3 Kernel installed if that means anyhthing...
 
try flashing back the stock kernel and see if that helps. or flash over LDrifta's #2 all your problems will be fixed
 
i had problems when i tryed to flash over an overclockable kernel too whats you cpu set at? maybe too high? what app are you using to set your cpu? did u check set at boot? if so go into recovery and clear dalvik and cashe might help
 
from phone OFF press and hold both power and vol down until you see a black screen that says factory data reset press power to comfirm. or something like that. press power button and it will tell you to press power again then it will say confirmed. then boot you up into recovery. if you dont have custom recovery it will factory reset you phone.

its weird...im holding the buttons down but no "Factory Data Reset" screen is coming out and when i let go of the buttons it boots up (still blinking off though)
 
ok try this press and hold power and vol down till the phone turns on, as soon as the screen turns let off power still holding vol down till a black screen with text comes up

Alright thanks I got into it. Now Im going back to the stock kernel but is there any reason why its been doing this?
 
im not sure why it doesnt work for everyone. it does seem to be working with #2 so if you want to overclock then i would check that out. just remember NEVER click set on boot in the app you use to overclock. that way if it is set too high it will reset to default on start up

i was doing this wrong my first time also. You have to press vol up AND vol down together and the power button

Yeah it was working before and but the blinking off thing came back and now my phone refuses to power on. I took my phone to Metro and they said it was the battery that needs to be replaced (thank god :) ) So i ordered a new battery and it should be here soon, Thanks for all the help guys!

my phone has been doing the same,im on rom #2 2.5,tried the lastest update and phone didnt like it ,so i went back to 2.5, but phone still shuts off by itself,and if i plug in the charger while off it wont come on,just show charging,so i have to turn on and wen the lg screen starts i plug charger in and it comes on,ive been testing my batts (3) 2 ext batt 1 stock,and so far its not happened with the stock battery,so i was trying to get to stock but cant ,so i can exchange phone,so im praying its the batts. and help on how to get to stock,ive tried the android commander return to stock way but no go,

sorry so long guys:confused:

lol no need to be sorry.. hope it's not my rom hurting your batteries :/ but from what i hear it could be to do with calibration.. due to having reg & ext battery the device may not be calibrated correctly..? does it stay at 1% for a lonnnng time or at 100% for a long time? lol the battery may not know it's true potential :D

this is just a slightly un-educated guess lol im not sure the actuall issue just sharing thoughts..

ldrifta,question for you,does your roms and calibration go hand in hand with the stock batt,because ive switched to my stock batt and no probs,put in the ext batt,she shuts off,now my stock batt willstay at 100 for a good while,i noticed that today when i lookeed at it,100%,iwas like heck its been unplugged for a while ,just didnt seem right lol

Wait...so your saying you tried different batteries but the same thing kept happening??

i dont think it's the ROM that gets calibrated but the actual device lol but i guess you can say that because i've been using the same battery everyday since i baught the device ;)

yes,but the stock batt so far has not done it yet(cross my fingers) still putting it to the test,but one of the ext batt will boot up and everything is fine then out of nowhere it will shut down,so still baffled,maybe a batt thing then maybe not,lol,oh and the ext batt can say fully charged and turn phone on and its only 90% or so then when the phone shuts off and then wen i get it back on its dropped sumtimes 60,50,40 % like the boot up drains,i dont know,just sharing my issues,thanks
