Root i rooted, and have a custom rom... but how to i go back?

trust me its slower.. it hangs alot when opening txt messages, pictures and apps (when i say hangs its well over 10secs) i have to end up pressing home button and sometimes it doesnt even respond to that..

i cant answer you, i dont know why its doing that but its not due to it being rooted

EDIT:

youve unrooted it

right, just do a factory reset and start again from fresh.

I know this is an old thread but thought i would post here instead of starting a new thread.

My phone was originaly a telstra (australia) branded phone, i rooted and put on modac0 R8 rom last oct/nov, now im starting to get over heating issues so i want to return to stock, the latest telstra RUU update is _HTC Desire_RUU_Bravo_Froyo_Telstra_WWE_2.26.841.2_Radio_32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14_release_150162_signed
the software info on the current rom is:
Android Version 2.2
baseband version 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2
kernel version 2.6.32.15-gf9c0527
build number 2.09.405.8 CL218634

Since it seems that the update is newer than the modaco version and the RUU is an official HTC/telstra release is it just a simple case of following the instructions on the htc web site which are:
