I was talking to a metropcs rep today and he told me some thing he should not of... one thing is lg is working on ice for the connect... will be out when it's done.. next there will be 4 new lte phone that will be out soon 3 will hive ice out of the box on will get ice with a update.. out if the 4 phones one is htc...:D

that is true I can see your point...... for me this is the same rep that told me about lg connect weeks b4 CES.. but think about it metro is going for 4g in all markets by the end of 4thQ. The CEO said that metro will NOT get the iphone the price is to high. He did say that he want all to have low cost 4g phones.... they only have 4 4g phone out so 8 is not that far out of touch.. even boostmobile just got a htc phone with ice...
 
i half ass believe what metro says cause they did give the 2.2 update for the ascend but it took them forever to get there crap together and release it after everyone heard them say they would release next month then the next month came and went with promises of next month and it went on like that for quite a few months up till they released it but by that time we had several custom roms for the ascend which were more badass than metros update thanx to some of the same devs/mods that we have wrkin on the connect now. so bottom line is metro doesnt know half of what they speek on so dont count on them being on time with what they r supposed to or should do they r still just puppets dancing on strings. now im not saying that we probably won't get ics but when we do we'll probably have to pay metro for the update and hopefully we should have maybe a couple of better options as far as roms go(fingers crossed) by the time they(metro) r ready to release an update. lg will probably b ready to release the ics updates b4 metro is... lol which i hope is sooner than later cause im sure if lg could release it sooner it would help our awesome devs out a bunch. thx to all who give this phone and us everything they can to help make this phone better :-)

i can see why every one is so negative about metro updates.. I am with you about that but it's not just metro... AT&T and Verizon are just as bad with updates... I was just passing some info for everyone. We do know that lg had said that they will update the other 840 to ice the one for Verizon and I think the other one is AT&T... so is not hard to believe that we will get the update... I never said the metro was making the update I was told lg is in the working of the coding of ice for the 840 ( all 840 not just ms-840).. I never said the update was going to be anytime soon.. I did say that they have 4 phones that are going to be 4g that will be ice or ice upgrade ready that will be out in the near future (that can be as soon as next week or the next 4 months.. you never know when they going to release a new phone. look at the connect it came out 9 week after they said it was going to be out at CES(like I said a few post ago I found out about the connect a few weeks b4 CES by the same metro rep.. I was going to buy my 2nd lg esteem for my wife and was told to hold off for a few weeks that they were going to have a new phone to be shown at CES that was from lg and had a 1200mh dual core.. but he did not give me the name of the phone) .... I know you must think I a noob or a troll about phones because I only have a few post on here but I been rooting since droid 1.. I just don't talk to much in forms but I do read them all the time. I am starting to see why we don't have to meny dev making roms for us don't get me wrong but anything someone talks about some news good, bad, or from a bad source you all jump down on them...( the point why I don't talk in forums:mad:)
 
hes right too, its just as bad on the admire forum and i do the same, cant wait to get this phone tho, also this phone is pretty much prepped up for ics, i wouldnt see why metro/lg wouldnt release an ics update
 
@jaympt I wasn't trying to b negative towards u (sorry if that's how it sounded) I don't know much about ATT or verisions inerworkings but I'm sure all cariers r basically the same, they all have there storys confused as to when they will release updates which is y one of the Dev's biggest rules is no eta's cause when u give someone a date that's when they expect it and if it doesn't happen then people tend 2 get upset. I'm not saying u gave any date that we should expect an update, ur metro rep did and u were just passing along ur info and that's ok, like I said I wasn't trying to rag on u or anything like that sorry if it came off like that, we have all heard all our carriers give us dates and not come through is probably all I should've said sorry if I offended u sometimes the meaning of words get lost in text and in translation cause u can't c the person typing on the other end. I'm a pretty nonconfrontacional person so my bad if I upset u it wasn't ment to
 
This is the way I see it. Metro will not give us ics. Why would they. You want the newest and best. Buy a new phone. We pay half price so we get half service. I just don't see them spending money on a phone they have already sold. Now if I am wrong of course I will say please and thank you for a update.

ok I don't know if you knew this but this phone was built for ice.. it was to compete with the iphone 4 with a low cost it was the same size and weight of the iphone 4. when the rep for lg 1st talk about the 840 at CES for Verizon, AT&T and Metro the 1st said it was going to have ice out of the box... the that was pull out of his statement a short time later... I don't work for any phone comp.. but I think it was pulled for the metro could have the phone out asap and Verizon and At&t stop saying it was going to have ice out of the box... like I said a few post ago that the phone was released 9 weeks late...

LG hasn’t done a very good job of keeping the wraps on their upcoming Cayenne LS860 for Sprint. While details on the handset’s specs remain the same as the last time images surfaced, a new picture gives a frontal view of the device and confirm that LG will go with the software navigation buttons found in Android 4.0+. The Cayenne has previously been rumored to run a 1.2GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM, LTE, a 4-inch WVGA display, 5MP camera, and slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

Making its first appearance alongside this latest leak is the LG Motion 4G, and Android 4.0 LTE handset reportedly headed to MetroPCS. Release dates for both the Motion 4G and Cayenne LS860 remain unknown, but judging by the number of leaks coming from LG’s camp, don’t be surprised to hear an announcement soon.

Same here not even worth bothering if you have the connect. I already made a mistake form buying the LG Esteem then the connect. But atleast if this was 4.5 inch screen it would be considerable this is the exact same as connect except the ICS. And by the time this phone comes out Playfulgod will have us something I believe he will he is awesome. Thanks for the post though OP, and for all the info.

I have no expectation of getting the S3 on metro, but if we DID, I'd drop the connect like a bag of snakes. I can't stop drooling over just everything about that phone.
 
I've read several articles that say metro is getting the G S3 in october but again its just leaked no official announcement yet but its looking real promising as samsung has already mentioned they are going to be working on it.

I've heard from several sources that metro is getting the S3, but I will believe it when I see it lol.

it was my mistake for some reason I thought spectrum 1 was Verizon verson of the esteem... it was late last night I was thinking lgms910 was lgms920.... some sleep would of help me not make that mistake.. lol

I asked the guy in Metro today how I would know if an update were to come available for my phone. He said that possibly next week but by Aug, at the latest, I will be getting a text message to alert me of an update. He said the update is for ICS.

the only update I know of this week is going to be for the lgvs840 it's getting vs840zv6 just a bug fix no ice. so we might be getting a bug fix as well.. oh yea (According to an LG “employee” over at their support forums, the Spectrum should receive its Ice Cream Sandwich update any day now. From what this employee has said, we are “very close to release” and basically waiting for Verizon to give us a date. He made this claim 6 days ago after returning from vacation, but joined the party again yesterday to remind Spectrum owners to keep an eye on LG’s “Company Updates” page) I hope this can help PG... with cm9 hopefully he can port some things over to his work... yes I know it's not the same phone as the connect.. but there has to be some of the same code like the esteem is to the connect...

To be clear, I didn't specifically ask about ICS. After paying the hubster's bill I simply asked him how I would know if an update were to ever come available for my phone. The rest of our conversation went like this...
H-You'll get a text.
M-A text?
H-Yes. If there is an update for your phone, you'll get a text.
M-Do updates happen very often?
H-Really depends. The Connect just had an update and there is another one coming next week or by Aug, anyway.
M-Jeez, it must have problems.
H-Nothing like that. It runs on Gingerbread and it's getting Ice Cream Sandwich. That's a good thing.
M-You're making me hungry.

As I was there paying hubby's bill, he didn't have a clue which phone I have...
