hi, im a noob too, and having big problems with lpi & docks! It doesnt work basically.
I can go into the application via the main menu, but when i press the home button from the home screen i have no option to use it.
So basically, i can't use the app.

any clues as to what i'm doing wrong?? I've tried un and re-installing.
wondered if you'd experienced something similar

thanks

antpal: so it runs, but your home button is locked to another launcher? You should be able to fix this by going to settings->applications->manage, find your current launcher and select "clear defaults" (you'll need to scroll down to see this - it's not the same as "clear data" - apologies if you knew that!).

There's a little app in the market called ClearDefaultHome that takes you straight to the current default launcher's management page. "Home Switcher" might be even easier.

Start here at LauncherPro Icons:

Docks: Most Recent Docks | LauncherPro Icons

Icons: Most Recent Icons | LauncherPro Icons

A good way to organise any icons, docks and wallpapers on your phone:

1. Create a folder for each type of image file on your PC, such as "Icons - White" or "Wallpaper" or "Icons - Dock" and put image files in the folders

2. Connect phone to PC as disk drive

3. Copy the new folders from your PC to the root of your SD card.

4. Disconnect the pgone from PC and open the Gallery app. The app will scan that SD card for images and will display the new folders that you put on the SD

5. Whenever you want to use an image, with LauncherPro, wallpaper, etc, choose "Custom" from the list and you'll be presented with the image folders in the Gallery.

hi, and sorry, i've kinda hijacked your thread Brent!
Just to elaborate further - in both sense and lpi the clear data box is greyed out - hence me being so stuck!

hi, and sorry, i've kinda hijacked your thread Brent!

kind of? you totally did.

now please go back to your own thread where you were getting advice and stop being so impatient.

if you keep being pushy, no-one will want to help you.

Brent: dock background should be 480 pixels wide (width of screen). Some of mine seem to be about 85 pixels high, but I think that's a little less critical.

Wallpaper size is ideally 800 (high) by 960 (wide).

My icons seem to be various sizes, so I'm pretty sure they scale. Not sure what the native size is (likely depends on how many rows/columns you use).

Formats: png seems common for icons. I have both jpg and png wallpapers.

The "Show us your desktops" thread has plenty of information and ideas, but takes a long time to read :)
