Calling, 3G, and wifi were critical to me, so I tackled those first. I'd be interested now, however, to get an informal read on what is next most important to the most people. Trying to post a poll for the purpose, let's see if it works. Note that "data issues" may not yield a concrete result if I were to work on it, unlike "cameras", etc.., since I and many others haven't seemed to have data issues - so it could be any number of things that I may not be able to reproduce.

:) mantera got GPS working as I posted this, so check that one off.
Others I've seen a few mentions of now:

* Capacitive button haptics (never mind, got that working. it was an easy fix :) )
* Tethering
* Audio input (non-call)

Someone mentioned haptic feedback in the other thread, and I agree. I miss the little vibrate when pressing the capacitive buttons. I'm betting this is pretty easy for someone fix.

Also the microphone doesn't work for anything but voice calls. Since it works in calls, I'm betting this is also a straight-forward fix.

I would vote to clean up the overall smoothness of the ROM, its not nearly as smooth as Manteras CM7, and with hardware acc. it should be much smoother, but it is rather clunky feeling, as of 0.5.2

After trying to decide between camera and other, I voted for other. I'd really like to see the microphone working in areas other than phone calls. Specifically, voice search. It's an awesome feature of Android, and I miss it :P

yumbrad, the wifi is good, but seems to be a little cutout, and to get it working again I have to go to settings and then it reconnects, don't know if that makes sense?

thanks for the help.

Camera and voice search are some of the things I miss the most too. But if HDMI or something is very popular, I'm at the point where I'm flexible on what I look at next.

Good idea, and I have that on my longer term radar. It's probably the combination of many underlying issues, however, so I'd probably rather hit a concrete missing feature first. A great way to address this, I believe, is to bring up a 3.x kernel. That's a big undertaking, though!

i think stability, hardware acceleration and good contact sync (Facebook contacts etc...)

Doesn't NateMckn have a build with Facebook sync?

Not sure how much more we can utilize the hw accel - we may have everything she's got enabled. Smoothness may be able to be improved in other ways, however.

you can do it! :D lol

You're probably right, hw accel can wait. but with NateMckn's Facebook sync, I was unable to sync my entire fb contact list. And number of contacts synced changed with every reboot sometime i would get only google contacts, sometimes only fb contacts ( I guess maybe i should be telling him that haha)

Facebook not working is totally the fault of the app not being updated to properly support ICS. My build has a workaround (read "hack") developed specifically to force it to work on ICS. It probably won't ever get merged into CM9 because it isn't the job of the ROM to provide support for apps that refuse to update to the new standard.

Have to tried going into the people app and messing with the "Contacts to display" and "Accounts" settings?

For me it was a bit wonky at first, but I haven't had a problem with it since messing with those settings a bit.

Defeantly voice for other programs I can't talk to people on Skype and I do that often next would be wifi stability with Bluetooth and yum knows why :D cut outs are no good xD

I thought I had tried that .Anyway, I'll try it again later to see what happens !

I'm throwing in my vote for camera as well. I haven't been back to CM7 since the most recent update. I'm really starting to get used to the way ICS works, and I'd love to be able to take pics of my kids. Like to see what can be done with the shaky data (3g) issues.
