Root ICS for Optimus V?

Just browsing XDA, and I noticed this.

So, two things. Does this mean anything for us Optimus V users? And is it at all possible to test it on an Optimus V? Or are the differences between the two phones two great?
 
It's still more than we've seen... and it IS progress. Let's just be realistic, and not set our sights too high. We can always hope, and we have something to GIVE us hope now.
 
I wouldn't be getting any crazy Idea's. If it was that easy we would have a ROM already.
Wait for it to be done right, there are to many other variables, like screen drivers,baseband version,kernel,etc.,etc.
If you get impatiant............brick,or permanent lose of 3G at best.
 
I'm just as excited for ICS as the next geek, but I don't mind waiting. Honestly, aside from the appearance, what will ICS give me that BACKside doesn't? I have been very satisfied with Jerryscript's work, and I have faith in his timing. He's following Bobzhome's work with ICS on the OV, and when it's functional enough he'll probably migrate to the newer code base. In the meantime, teasers like this just serve to maintain excitement for those of us on the edges of the development community.
