Root ICS is here!

Just installed it a couple mins ago mate, all seems good so far, apart from the first boot, where all the app names were all messed up, but nothing a reboot didn't fix. Seems smoother scrolling the home screens.
What about you?

do u mean like scrambled tx, if you go options, trebuchet settings and hold the back button down it will restart the browser and sort that out, saves a reboot, yeah i found it alrite,

tho the only little issue iv found is with 8 way lockscreen, (issue not present with 4 way or stock)
Lock device in landscape = Hot Reboot.
lock device in portait, rotate to landscape whle locked, press power button to unlock = Hot reboot.

its the 8 way lockscreen that causes it, (i think)

Looks like I'd better try this. Still running RCmix3D runny 4.0. Has anyone gone from this to ICS, is the battery life better or worse?

i went from RCmIX to coredriod then on to ICS, and buy far on the last few update my battery has been spot on, i got 1d,5 hrs,51 min on one charge and that includes

1 rom flash
BT headset and car stereo conected
3g on for 11 hrs wifi for the rest
GPS is always on
hand full of phone conversations whilst on Bluetooth
plenty of tx messages
bit of web surfing, FB Twitter google+ and checking forums via apps

so imvery impressed with the battery at the moment

help that helps

Sounds good to me! Better make a backup and flash to this new rom. Looking forward to the real ICS when it arrives. I didn't expect HTC to add the Desire HD to the list of phones getting it.

mmm im curious, i never tried absolution rom before, be good if you guys could let us know wot its like,

When I try to watch something on 4oD on my browser, I would either have no sound, the clip will run for 5 seconds and pause and not resume ever, or both -__-.. very frustrating ....

Well I tried ICS and I've gone back to RCmix for now. Some of my apps dont work too well with it and for some strange reason turning off the wi-fi via the quick option bar caused my phone to reboot. May try the other ICS roms, MIUI for example. I did think the camera took as good pictures as other roms I've used so that's a plus considering the problems in the previous versions.

After having a go with Ascension for a while, it's okay but needs a lot more work done. It has been quite laggy switching between screens, apps and menus and is lacking some features such as the smart dialer and the ability to customise lockscreen etc. But saying that, it's only an alpha build so i'm sure it will be very good in the near future :)

Edit: The most glaring bug in this build is the call quality, which is awful. Sounds like the person on the other end is taking through a tin can and it really cracks and hisses. Not good considering that's the primary function of a phone ;)

Well in that case mate, I think i will give it a bit of time to grow, i did download it and put it on the sd card, but i also did the same with the MIUI Rom too, but i installed that 1. I must say i am pretty impressed! Super smooth.
If anyone does install it, when it guides you through the set up process, use the volume and power keys to navigate and select. ;)

Whilst the miui is the definite smoothest and most robust ICS Rom I've used it still suffers from rendering problems in the browser, either stock or dolphin hd and I can't watch embedded videos but that's about it. Seriously impressed with miui ICS ran copilot live with no probs

I'm a little disappointed with the latest LC ICS build (3.0). When at home I have WiFi on constantly and whilst this normally gives me about 17 hrs battery, with this new ROM I'm already down to 20% left after 12 hrs and I've hardly touched my phone today.

Hmm I tried ascension aswell, but for me the switching between screens apps and menus are smoother than Ice Cold sandwich and Virtuous. Not bad battery life either, just not a lot of mods, which I don't mind.

Yep, turning it off fixed it for me. Thanks! :D

no worrys bud, its nice to give something back, after all the help iv received :D

new test build out, from wot some have said its working now but i cant confirm this as iv not tried

scrap that, still not working so think he said he is gonna remove it

I'm running it now and it's very good, I've had wifi issues ever since Gingerbread but ICS seems to have sorted that out and this rom is great. give it a flash and see what you think.
