I have not been able to flash this yet as i am at work but i think the google apps are included

  • do a backup
  • boot into recovery
  • do a full wipe
  • flash the rom
  • once it finishes reboot the system
  • once loaded you need to manaually enter your APN
you can usually find the details for your network on their website

and you should be good to go

Bear in mind this is still in development so some things do not work

What works:
  • Calls
  • Wifi
  • Data (have to set the apn manually)
  • Touchscreen
  • Audio
  • Sms
  • Key lights
  • SDCard
  • GPS
  • Hardware acceleration 2D
  • Microphone
What dont work:
  • Video Codec
  • 3D gaming
  • Camera
  • 3D HW acceleration
  • accelerometer
  • bluetooth
 
Dang. I accidentally hit deny on titanium backup's superuser request and apparently the superuser request app FCs every time you open it.

I'm tempted to stick with ICS for a day or two but I'll take this as my cue to go back to cm7...

Good man. Mind you i almost put my DHD through the window the other day when i found out Orange were having the audacity to fire their contracts up 4.34% in January, cheeky barstewards:mad:

I got that message through as a text, but my wife (who has an SGS) didn't... what's that all about?? :confused:

Like your wife i haven't heard anything from them. Few mobile site reporting it reckon OFCOM think they may be at it even thought it states in their T&C'S that they can put it up a certain amount. Anyway i fliled a complaint with OFCOM and have a case number also fired of an email to Orange demanding somebody phone me to discuss the matter.
Rant over, sorry if i have went off thread:rolleyes:
 
Just had a bit of a go with this... seems ok, but I think I'm gonna have to wait for a little while, until a few more of the bugs have been worked out and you can do a bit more with it.

me too been playing with it since i got in

cant see some apps in the market

got screenshot installed and friendcaster working

calls work, sms all work fine

market works fine apart from missing apps

nice and fast

Dam, i really wanna try this, but i think there is gonna be a few to many bugs for me. Plus, i have only had CM7 installed for a week, and i really like it. :D

There's nothing wrong with giving it a go. Backup your current ROM in clockworkmod and then flash it... worth a go, just to see what it's like. I had it for about 30 mins, just so I could see what it was like, but ended up going back to CM7.
 
Well i may just have a crack at it tomorrow, is it just a case of backup in CWM, and flash the zip, or do i need to factory reset/wipe first? :)

Download the zip, put it on root of the SD card and then, as long as you backup, you're good to go.

The beauty of rooting is that you can try stuff like this. Once you've seen what ICS is all about, you just reboot into recovery - just power off and then power on, while holding the volume down button - and restore the backup (and you're back to CM7 as it was when you backed up)!

EDIT - where it says "full wipe" - I did both wipes!

Sorry :o - wasn't trying to force you in to it... :)

As I said, I'm glad I checked it out... really wanted to see what it was like. Think I'll leave it for now... wait until they've ironed out any issues that are still there and have it all working! :)
