Root ICS is here!

Installed! Liking it a lot so far. Super smooth. :D

Good, good... glad you like it. I thought it was pretty nice, but went back to CM7 after about 20/30 mins... like I said, I think I'll wait till they've got it all working... ironed the bugs out :)

yeah, for sure. will give it a blast tommorow, and then switch back to CM. Its just nice to see what they have done.

Deffo mate... it does look pretty sweet to be honest! I'm liking the look of it so far and can't wait to give it a proper go, once they've got it a bit further!! :D

The apps are missing because of the dpi settings (resolution) being unusual in this build, I believe.

yeah they have it set at 190 instead of 240 for some reason

I left it installed and still using it today :)

Not checked is there is any updated as just going onto XDA now lol

Right, finished with ICS for the time being, looking good so far. As for restoring from CWM to CM7, do i need to factory wipe in order to do the restoration, or just run the restore?

Thanks

I find it a bit annoying the devs are all releasing different builds that have different problems and fixes

they should be working together to get a stable base then doing thier own thing from there lol

I've just stuck to the official ones posted by Lord Clockan and the OP of the thread.

I have tried different ones they all vary lol

found out aswell you are better to doa full wipe and wipe cache before doing a resotre of CM7 for example so no remnants of ICS remain :)

Fair enough... worth remembering, but I've been back on CM7 for a day or so - will bear it in mind next time!

I think coordinating a dozen developers to tinker with the same code could slow them down quite a lot. Too many cooks and so on.

Once we reach a stable release, the number of releases will go way down and things will be far more organised.

thats what i mean though why not have

Developer 1 working on bluetooth
Developer 2 working on 3D Accel
Developer 3 working on Camera

or even have them all working on what they want but compile them into one release

Common Sense lol

Exactly.... Many hands make light work!

shall i do a post where we can keep it updated in the first post with links to each build with what is working and what is not?

Sounds like a great idea. Since everyone is already subscribed to this thread, if you want to post it as a reply here I can move the post up to the top of the thread for you so you take over as the OP.

Updated first post and tidied it up :)

Leaving work now to be dragged around the shops for xmas presents

so will check later and update if needed :)

Is anybody using this for day to day stuff, or are folk just firing on to have a look at ICS?

I tried an early build on Sunday, but it only lasted about half an hour. Is the current build worth it?

I'm on beta 2 and have been since it came out.

There are a few problems, no camera/galary, no GPS/bluetooth/acelerometer and no 3D games. But what's there actually works fine, if you see what I mean.

Has anyone tried making a call? I saw a few comments mentioning the sound quality of your voice was noticeably improved at the other end.
