Root ICS is here!

I tried this rom but after about 30sec it forces closed and reboots,
and won't let me reboot into recovery by holding power and volume.

Luckily I managed to open rem manager to reboot into recovery and reload a backed up rom.

Am I doing something wrong?

Is it because I didn't do a full wipe?

Pep

Yeah, you definitely do a full wipe if you're switching between android versions.

Thank You.
Guess I'm worried about it doing the same thing and not being able to use power and volume to reboot into recovery and not having rom manager there to do it.
Or will it be ok after a full wipe?

I'm guessing that the crash was what prevented you from rebooting into recovery - most likely because the phone wasn't actually shutting down properly like it normally would. So a proper wipe ought to prevent that happening again.

However, if you're ever stuck in that situation again, your best bet is to pull the battery, wait a few seconds, then put it back in and then try to boot into recovery. That'll force it to shut down completely. That's always worked for me.

Mine boot sonto screen but never lets me do anything from there???
so i always have to use ROM MANAGER, and im worried that if my phone doesnt boot that far one day im in trouble.

I wonder if its beacause i did the ace hack thing on my spare memory card??

If rom manager works, there's no reason your recovery shouldn't.

Are you using the right buttons? The recovery menu doesn't support the touch screen. On the first white menu you see, you have to use the volume buttons to navigate to 'recovery' and then hit the power button to select it and go to the recovery menu.

The recovery menu can be navigated in the same manner or by using the touch buttons below the screen.

first white menu boots.. but when i try and navigate using the volume buttons nothing moves or works

What is the problems on it so far?

People have commented on what issues they have been having in this thread. I believe that, if you look at the first post in the thread, there should be a changelog (which has come from the ROM developers), showing what does/doesn't work... :)

Main thing that are missing it True Hardware acceleration
Camera does not work

Flash does not work as adobe have not done a build for ICS yet

I presume this is pretty close to being stable then? A lot of great work has been done. Camera and HW acceleration left.

Looks like we finally have proper hardware acceleration! :)

I'm waiting the dust to settle first before switching - they've been churning out new builds pretty quickly for the last day or so.
