Root ICS is here!

Oh, I know... having had a little play with it a while ago, it looks promising, but I wanted to make sure that they'd completed everything first... looks like it shouldn't be long now though!!

I hope we are getting closer to a finished ICS Rom, really don't like Sense 3.0 so I am looking to re-root. Makes sense to do it on a new Android version

Installed the latest build, ICS looks awesome and it's pretty slick too. Unfortunately, the camera doesn't work (Unfortunately, Camera has stopped) and the apps list in Titanium is virtually unreadable, the majority of letters are missing in the app names and they are all strike throughed (not even a word).

Amazon Kindle is displayed as m on K dl for example. For the half an hour or so of me having it on, the rest seems fine though.

I only finished night shift this morning and I've had about 2 hour sleep so I don't have the patience to test properly. I'm restoring my backup now and I'll give it another go tomorrow.

I get the same problem too, seems to happen randomly. Rebooting the phone sorts it out, but it's a pain nonetheless.

I'm going to try the Virtuous build tonight as they seem to have a lot more working (there's a lot more settings, in the LC build most of it is blank) and see how that goes. The camera is still pretty dodgy but 3rd party ones work fine apparently

i really like the look of this but this ill hang it out for a full stable rom, tho i think this could drag me away from sense based rom

Been playing with the Virtuous Quattro build for an hour or so, and in my opinion I think it is leaps and bounds over the LC builds. Much smoother and less bugs over all (so far, haven't looked into it in great detail.)

Here is a picture taken with the stock camera :) -

The thumnails in gallery don't show properly and the first time the camera opens it is totally black. Taking a picture clears it and shows the viewfinder.

Performance wise it seems quite laggy comapred to lordclockan's, but I'm going to see how it performs with LC's kernel now.

Strange, as mine is working really well, personally I think it's a smoother than the LC build. However on both builds the trebuchet launcher is pretty slow at scrolling through the homescreens, although i'm not sure if it's supposed to be like that. Might be because i'm used to it bouncing slightly when the screens are changed and it doesn't do it on this launcher.

I will give the LC kernel a go tomorrow and see if it makes a difference.

My main gripe with the VQ build is that the power widgets in the notification bar are only accessible by pressing the settings button, instead of them being there straight away. Not a big problem though :)

Yeah, I've had the same experience with the ICS launcher too. That's on all of the builds I've tried too, even the ones that aren't laggy in any other area. I just stick to using launcher pro instead.

The most recent build and kernel can be found here in Lord's dropbox, since XDA is currently down for the SOPA/PIPA protest.
Have given this a go. It looks very nice, with just a few bugs (notification screen isn't easy to read, unable to sync with facebook and one or two others). Trebuchet looks very slick. When it's completed, I think I'll probably move to this, as long as battry life remains good.

eBeen playing with it since last night, a little laggy but best Rom yet.

Loved getting an email from Android Team welcoming me to my new Galaxy Nexus,

Looks like things are coming on well, still not man enough to take the plunge and try a ROM though. Just keeping up to date with LCs thread on XDA and apart from the camera and a few other bugs things are looking solid.
