Root ICS is here!

In TB there is an 'Accounts' app with a TB logo next to it. Would I be able to restore that and my accounts would come back without having to reconfigure them? I don't think I have ever restored it before as I wasn't entirely sure what it would do

You got a pic? I can't find that. :o

I know for things link my Kindle app, the amazon and ebay apps, facebook, Phandroid, K9 & and the Halifax BOS app, I just restore the apps with data and the accounts reappear too. I'd presume it was the same with Spotify etc?

I see that accounts app, but no, I've never tried it since it's a system app.

I'm guessing that spotify is one of those ones that stores your account under Settings >> Accounts and Sync, right? Restoring the app in TB doesn't restore the account.

Some apps like LinkedIn, Facebook and Reddionic have their accounts restored when I use TB, but others don't. Spotify is just a case of opening it and logging in but it would be nice to have it open immediately :p Most notably the email account doesn't restore as I use the stock app and I can't restore that between ROMs.

If i'm just going from one version of LC ICS to another, would it be alright to backup the stock email app and restore the data? I'm guessing they are identical

Unfortunately I can't get my SD card to mount and show as a drive on my computer, so can't transfer anything over at the moment :( (It recognises it for about 10 seconds and then ejects itself and comes up with a warning.) Was looking forward to having a go with Sense 4.

Also, a lot of people seem to be losing root access after flashing that ROM above. There is a zip that can be flashed to fix it but it all seems pretty unstable at the moment

Gutted that it's not quite there... sure it won't be too long though!

Will hold off on putting a link to that in the ATR sticky for now then!

Does that happen when you boot into recovery and mount your sdcard from there?

You could also transfer files using dropbox or something similar.

Haven't tried from recovery but will give it a go tomorrow. I was going to use airdroid to transfer some stuff but now my wifi has decided to stop working :( dropbox should work though :)

Received my phone back from vodafone repair yesterday, had to re-root it, which i have done, so may give this a whirl later. Do you think its ok for daily use, or is it a trial Rom for the minute?

I don't think it is quite ready for daily use yet, there are a lot of bugs and have been getting a lot of force closes, and contrary to what I said before, it has become a bit slow after a days use. I still think it should be tried though as it is pretty cool :)

Just had a play around for half hour just to see what its like, and like you say, it does look good, nice and smooth. One to watch for sure.:)

Have HTC made any interesting changes with 4.0?

My favourite change is that they have changed the Rosie launcher so it now holds 4 apps on the dock, as opposed to having the phone in the middle as a huge button and the app drawer on the left. Other than that I didn't see any huge differences appearance wise (except the colour schemes have changed) and there are some new HTC apps and new versions of apps like HTC hub which are supposed to be good, however HTC hasn't released these at all so they don't work at the moment

Edit: I should also mention that flashing the ROM will give you 23GB of free Dropbox space :D Just sign into Dropbox and wait 5 minutes or so and you'll get an email confirming you have got the extra space. I think this is worth flashing it alone :)

Using primo's sense 4.0, other than the camera not working properly, and that the battery life isn't as good as the vanilla ICS, it seems to work for me without any bugs.

You say the battery life isn't as good as vanilla ICS but surely that's been the same the whole time between vanilla Android and a sense version, sense always uses more power? How is the battery life compared to Android 2.3.5 and sense 3.5 is something I would like to know.

Also you say there is not bugs for you but I do see people complaining that WIFI isn't working for them and a few other issues. Camera I can deal without for now but I do need it to be usable in just about every other way if I'm going to flash it and use it daily (bluetooth I also don't care about).

Have been keeping a tab open for PrimoS and the IceSense threads and refreshing daily to see when either would be worth the hassle flashing. Can anyone else back up that PrimoS is working well other than the camera?

Well I know it's always been like that sense always used more power, however that's all I know for now since I haven't tried any sense custom roms, so sorry I can't comment on that, but I did notice that the difference between the battery life's between vanilla 4.0.3 and the primo's sense 4.0 isn't a lot.
Also yeah I did see that people had various problems with the rom, but for me everything works except the camera. So dropbox works, mms works, bluetooth works, calling works, texting works, browsing works, wifi works, games works (except unity games for some reason also reported on the forum) and everything else I have used for the past 2 days. I have no idea why others are experiencing that many problems. I flashed the version released on 24th of march, after people flashed that rom I think most of the problems have been fixed.
