**ICS Jan 9 2012** Post here when you get it ...

My GPS is not working at all now. I was getting good results yesterday in this same slot. I will have to test more tomorrow.

I guess Android is just not on par with Apple yet in terms of browsing. Not saying this is a deal breaker, i have another 2 weeks to determine lol

Visit this forum on an ipad, and also on a TP (or any android tablet). dbl-tap on the list of topics. The iPad sorta SNAPS it into a zoom view and locks it there kind of, for effortless scroll up/down. The Android browser attempts a similar action, but it sort of floats all over as i scroll up/down. It is not snapped, or locked on that column.

very hard to explain, can someone confirm im not the only lunatic noticing this, or expecting this? lol

Apple put all its eggs into browsing. It's a small price to pay in my opinion for true multitasking.

Wow! The entire experience is so much faster: apps load quicker, the UI is smoother, the native browser is significantly faster. So far, I'm blown away.

Any more news on wifi performance away from the router and the now common dropping of wifi signal while streaming data via bluetooth (ie music)?

So far I've read of one person losing root with the update, and not being able to re-root.

However, those that rooted, used OTA root keeper, and accepted update are fine.

Just a heads up for those waiting for the update to decide if they want to root or not.

"blown away"??? Not that im swaying one way or another, or doubt you have seen improvements, but what about this update has "blown you away" lol

its not like you turned a Blackberry OS, into an Android OS ... it all seems pretty much the same to me lol

I wasn't expecting the performance to be this smooth, nor was I expecting the browser to be this much faster. Plus, this is my first time using ICS.

well one of the things is u can notice the smoothness and so far seems that my wifi has not dropped when going idle we will see overnight and my bookmarks are back other then that it is similar to honeycomb which is not bad thing because i did not hate that to begin with

Well I boxed mine up for return but neighbor updated his.

Can't really make any real judgement on speed. Boot time is still 1 minute. Browser experience seems the same. The UI does feel a bit snappier. Camera shutter lag seems longer.

Seeing some graphic glitches that were not there before. For example live Wallpaper (Skyrim) flashes when coming out of sleep mode to lock screen. YouTube App flashes when your on the recent popular video list and rotate or when pulling it up from the recent app list.

For those not liking the open app list. Swipe app off the screen to left to close it. Actually do like this better.

Overall though Im not seeing anything that makes me want to keep mine.

I just got the update and I have noticed a few major improvements. The biggest one is the wifi. Before I was getting about 8 mb/s and now I am getting 14mb/s. The next is the absence of lag in the typing. My dock will be here tommorow so I can't say anything about that. It also feels a little smoother all together. Well see in a week or so.

WOW, it is like a completely new machine; love it. Before upgrade the only thing that would show GPS location was Google Maps and the native Navigation app was brain dead. The navigation app now displays a route and talks to you; looks like it may actually be working. Will try it out on a trip tomorrow.

All in all it's a keeper. My keyboard will be delivered tomorrow so I should have a full system then.

So now I need to figure out what ICS brings to the table.

With the ICS update my Prime now intermittently breaks the screen up into horizontal bands or lines about 1/8 of an inch in height. this occurs more prevalently when scrolling. if i let a webpage sit, all of a sudden it splits into these lines, I can shake the page up and down and settle back to normal, if i am scrolling up or down a ways it may all of a sudden start doing it. This occurs in the browser, on home screens in apps & widgets etc. Anyone seeing anything like this?

Just accepted the update with a rooted prime... Can verify that rootkeeper app restores root. So far liking Ics, however I have work and class early tomorrow so it looksl like ill be waiting until tomorrow to mess around with it :(

Not sure about the TP, but on my Gnex this operation is smooth. I'm not one of those blind fanboys either - I know the browser lags. I'm only running 4.0.2, which is supposed to have a much laggier browsing experience than what you're running as well.

Did you wait for the page to load? Are you installing apps while doing this? Check to see if some app is using tons of cpu. Maybe it's some weird issue. You're TP is way faster than my Nexus, so if mine is smooth, you're should be too.

Liking ics so far!! Will play with it tomorrow but ours definitely feels snappy. One initial thought though, I like the new camera :)

Btw, I stickied this thread:D
