Help ICS Messaging icon is so ugly! Is there any way to replace it?

Can we all agree that the Messaging icon is the ugliest icon ever? Is there any way to replace it?

And yes, I know there are third party apps but I actually like the stock messaging app, just not the icon for it.

I know you can using Nova Launcher, not sure about the stock one.

Its the same messaging icon Android has used since at least 2.0. I actually think the Browser and Phone icons are the worst offenders, but to each his own. If you download Launcher Pro or ADW EX, you can change any icons you want to custom icons, and both are fantastic home screen replacement apps.

I love that icon But plenty of replacement apps out there -- though it would be a whole different app.


Sadly, that icon is likely to change in Android 5.0. It's one of the last holdouts from Donut or Eclair I think... might even go back to Cupcake?

I like the new people icon. And the new calendar icon is awesomesauce.

I hated it, too. It is changeable with Desktop Visualizer

Yes, it is ugly as sin and all the dock icons (sans the app drawer) are changeable with DVR (1x1) or by using Nova Launcher you change them all including the app drawer (using in screen shot)
