Root ICS OTA update for rooted S2LTE/Skyrocket

Hey guys, just read on Engadget that ICS will officially be coming to our phones in Q1 of 2012. For those of us with rooted phones, will we be able to download the new OS when prompted or do we wait for a "rooted" OS update? I know it's still a ways off but I figured someone might know.

Thanks!

if all you did was root your phone, it might work but thats not gauranteed. It really depends on the update.

It's best to wait for a rooted version of the update but they will at times work

typically if you still have the stock recovery the update will work...one may or may not loose root though.

it usually will not work if you have clockworkmod recovery.

I am going to go ahead and move this to the Skyrocket root subforum :D

Usually the devs are good about getting a root version of an official update out within a day or two. Looking at XDA, it seems like the Skyrocket is a popular phone, so I'd imagine it would get attention very quickly.

Yeah, let's stay on topic. This got out of hand and no one reported it. Please, in the future, let us know about off topic arguing earlier, so we can step in. As it stands, this got too out of hand, and infractions were handed out.
