Root ICS theme for mik 2.61 problem....

I downloaded the ics themes for mik 2.61 and tried them both out not really knowing the difference between the two. Regardless, the same problem happens with both of them. I do a full wipe, factory reset, superwipe, all that. Reflash 2.61, then flash the theme. Both versions get stuck at what I'm guessing is the boot animation. A bunch of multi colored squares rotating and moving around. I let it go for a while thinking it needed time to boot up but it went on for 20 minutes or so. Had to pull the battery to restart. Also, the boot animation ate up about 50% of my total battery life. Ugh... anyone else see this before?

twenty minutes is not that long to wait. give it some more time. if after 45 min then go ahead and pull the battery, but 20 minutes to me is too soon.

edit: are you flashing the rom and the theme in the same recovery session?

My thoughts too.
When you flash a mik rom, don't flash anything else in the same recovery session. Boot up the phone but don't touch it for at least 10 minutes. aamikam suggests this to let things "settle".
Once the rom is up and running, power down and boot to recovery. Make a nandroid backup.
Wipe the cache partition and dalvik cache only, then flash the theme. Boot back up then let the thing sit again.
Follow the same steps if you want to flash a kernel.
"Should" work from there. :D

Are you serious? That seemed like an obscenely long time to wait. Especially since the boot animation ate half my battery life in the 20 minutes or so I let it ride. it was just constant animation pumping for the whole time. I have never had a rom that took longer that 3 to 5 minutes to load up fully.

And yes, I flashed the rom and the theme at the same time. Ill try this again and do them separately. But damn..... 45 minutes to load a theme. I think ill pass. lol.

Some of the newer roms take a long time to load because they are literally huge. Especially the sense 3.5 roms. I think I remember the pyramid rom was around 30-40 minutes on some phones. Ocn, you had really long load times didn't you?
Don't give up on the theme yet. Try loading it up like I listed above and see if it works. If not we'll troubleshoot from there. :)
