Root If anyone needs help setting up Apps2SD

Formatted with ROM Manager. Applied the app2sd file. CMD prompt said it was active. Did the reboot command. Now the reboot seems to be taking forever. Is this normal or is it stuck?

I have let it sit for a half hour...should I give up?
 
andrizoid, followed the steps to here:
go to your sdk tools directory
run "adb shell"
run "/system/bin/a2sd install"
run "reboot"

however each time I get to adb shell - it replies device not found.
any advice?

it says that it cannot find the file when i try to install with usb toggle in recovery. i do not know what i am doing wrong have tried numerous times. please help

put the entire zip on the card.
(that was my first mistake)

Sorry guys but this isnt working with evil eris at the moment. I'm working with the dev to find a fix

Quick question - looks like I am going to have to wait for this to work. Once it is functional will it just copy all the current apps over? i just don't want to have to re-do my system again if I could avoid it.

back up your apps using astro or whatever program you use.
copy your SD card onto your computer and then delete everything off of it.
download this file and make sure its the only thing on your sd card
boot into recovery mode (volume up+power)
select partition SD card
select partition SD card again and wait for it to finish
choose ext 2 to ext 3 and wait for it to finish
hit volume down to take you back to the main menu
choose toggle usb
download and place this file in your sd card
a2sd-2.5-signed.zip - download now for free. File sharing. Software file sharing. Free file hosting. File upload. FileFactory.com
disable usb toggle and use volume down to return to the menu
chooseflash from zip and choose the file that you left on the sd card
let that load and return to the main menu with volume down
select enable usb
open up your terminal program on your comupter
go to your sdk tools directory
run "adb shell"
run "/system/bin/a2sd install"
run "reboot"

now your good :)

if your using a mac you will need to type "./" in front of the commands
do not type the "" for any of the commands.
do not type "run" in front of the commands either, just what is inside of the quotes

Any chance this can be done on any existing rom? Or will it only work on EE2?

Also, after doing this, will new apps save to SD card? Or still save to internal memory by defaul?
 
Just to update everyone, im going to the new updated file given to me by the dev. Will post results. We are doing out best to get this writhed out for you all and i promise to keep everyone in the loop.
To answer your questions, this will copy all the apps to the sd. No reinstall needed.
This will also set the default to the sd, no need to keep moving the apps.
Also the is no eris rom that this works for at the moment. Ee2 is closest to being worked out though

Flashed and it works! 158 mb internal memory! Will post updated Rom when I get home :)

This is amazing! Any idea what time tonight? I am EST. Got my Eris on "hold" LOL

Do I just need to have my sd card partitioned and ready to go? Does doing it through ROM Manager work ok?

pull battery and do a nand backup. this is all it would do to us last night. i tried about 6 times, got hung up on skateboarding droids every time.
 
Help! I don't see enable USB on the Main screen after flashing the zip. I tried USB Toggle, but when i enter the /system/bin/a2sd install, it says no file exists.
