If you could bring a dead rock star back to life

Yes, but wouldn't he be a zombie and more interested in eating my brains than playing the gig? :p

Surely it is a question of whether the dead Rock Stars would really want to come back themselves given the utter rubbish produced and labeled Music since the start of the Century?

But if I am forced to choose then I would pick Freddie Mercury as the obvious choice.

cliff burton w/ Jim Morrison, John Bonham, and richard Wright. Think of the music they would put out as a band.

John Lennon (1st pick)
runner up would be
Jimmi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Curt Cobain, Bob Marley, (in that order)

there are just too many for me to choose.. my first choice has to be Bon Scott though

after that the other short lived, that died before their time:

Stevie Ray Vaughn
Jimi Hendrix
John Bonham
Frank Zappa
Jim Morrison
Ronnie Van Zant
Randy Rhaods (which didn't for some reason make the list)

all of them in no specific order! All of them had a major impact on music as it is today

Jimi Hendrix
Marc Bolan (T. Rex)
Lowell George (Little Feat)
Bon Scott (AC/DC)
Freddie Mercury (Queen)
Mick Ronson
Danny Gatton
Jerry Garcia (The Grateful Dead)
Mark Sandman (Morphine)
George Harrison
Rick Wright (Pink Floyd)
Amy Winehouse

Keith and/or John Entwistle.

If it were just to be 1, it would probably be Moon.
Uncle Ernie?

Justin Bieber is the clear choice because he rocks. Too bad he died in that plane crash with Buddy Holly and the Big Bopper. So very sad.

Elvis. From my limited knowledge he was a very generous & humble person. Apparently he was in awe of Tom Jones' voice & were good friends.

At what point in his career do we bring Elvis back? That goes for the other dead stars, too. Do we want the young, cool Elvis or the fat drugged soaked version of what once was a truly great performer?

I would not want to see old Elvis ever again because I remember the Clambake and King Creole Elvis. I remember Jailhouse Rock and Love Me Tender.

I loved the guy, but near the end, let's face it. He was not the Elvis some/many of us remember. So do not just wish for his return, specify a time frame so we are not let down again.

Forget Elvis. I want to bring back the entire Rat Pack for one last monster show in Las Vegas. Not the kid friendly LV we have today; I want a 1960's era Rat Pack performance in a mob run Las Vegas.

But I will settle for just Frank.

Or perhaps lets have a triple billing: Elvis opens for the Rat Pack in Las Vegas and the Rat Pack is backed up by the original Benny Goodman Orchestra with Buddy Rich on drums. THAT would be the show of the century. I would love to see BG do Sing, Sing, Sing live.

Dag, you sure don't want to be entertained.
