When RSD lite reboots the phone, and then asks to manual power it off/on, nothing has changed. It's still the same build I had before flashing.

HELP!

Computer engineer here. Registered so I could post this and hopefully help a few of you guys out

I was running into the same problem, with Win7 x64, RSD Lite 4.6, latest drivers. Did some investigation into the error log and looks like I found a bug in their programming. Go into the directory you installed RSD Lite (for Win7 x64 the default is C:\Program Files (x86)\Motorola\RSD Lite\) and look for a file that starts with "FlashErrorLog". Open it, and if you see something like this:

Code:
Line: 865
ERROR: \\?\c:\SPRecovery_ESE81.sbfwtƒyo

There is not a thing here that has worked for me, I think my phone is officially bricked. I have tried to flash every sbf I could find for the Droid 2 Global. I changed the files names to include every number of characters, tried different computers and versions of RSD inclluding the one with the patch.

I'm at a total loss, I don't think there's anything that I haven't tried. Anyone have any extra suggestions?

Rezo's solution worked for me after a few hours of trying several things. After renaming the file to 'abc.spf' and moving to C:\, i was able to hit the start button however it would fail immediately. Counting the additional characters and adding them to the file name allowed me to instantly load the SPF file.

Rezo - thank you for taking the time to join the forum, much appreciated.

Solved for me Windows 7 64 Bit RSD Lite 4.8 VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.sbf

I started from a totally bricked phone. I mean motorola symbol and bootloader 30.04. That's it. B R I C K

I used RSD Lite v 4.8 and VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01.sbf

Kept getting flash error until I moved the .sbf file to the RSD folder in programfiles (x86). That did the trick!

Hope this helps someone else who came as close to smashing their phone with a hammer as I did this morning!

Thanks guys! It took me a few tries to get this to work for me.... Here is what did it:
PC: Windows 7 32 bit
I had to move the file to the same file where the RSDlite was installed in My Programs.

Once I did that it worked the first time.

Thanks again you all rock!

Can't believe this... puting the sbf file under my documents and running from command prompt sbf -f "path/to/mydocuments/flashfile.sbf" -t 2 and it did the trick! I've tried puting the file in the RSD Lite directory, also in root C:\, tryied multiple drivers version, different RDS Lite versions and nothing, but the My Documents. method.. worked flawlessly!

Ugh...

I installed the right driver - 32-bit - and I've followed every instruction to the "t"... But this is what I get:

What gives??

EDIT: Lawl...
I answered my own question, but in case anyone else runs into this problem, you'll probably feel as silly as I do...

The "pst_flash.ini" file that comes in the RSDLite-4.7 zip file is the patch. It needs to replace the pst_flash.ini that the installer loads in the program files.

I couldn't figure out why the instructions would say to put the file in there if it was already in there.... Yes, I am blonde. But at least I figured it out eventually...

DX just rebooted. It didn't touch my apps or my settings! Score!

Hi! just as another member on this thread did, I registered simply to thank you for this post. I recently upgraded my mom's DX to 2.3 but we decided to roll it back to use wifi tether. I was having a lot of trouble with it boot looping(despite my numerous nandroid backups) but finally got it fixed thanks to you taking the time to make this post. Thank you so much!:o

Thanks for the great information. The fix about the null characters and the filename length was the culprit. Brilliant!

I started it and it was working.......and then my battery died.........now i have to wait 3 hours for it to charge before i try again.....darn it

It certainly helped me out! I had one difference, though. After changing the filename to match length with the junk characters, RSD Lite didn't seem to recognize the file. It didn't populate the 'File Properties' section and the 'Start' button was greyed out.

And then I accidentally hit the spacebar with the cursor in the filename box. Suddenly 'Start' was enabled. I hit backspace to get rid of the space and the 'File Properties' were populated and 'Start' remained enabled. About 10 minutes later, my phone was back to it's original condition!

Now if I could just figure out what I did wrong when trying to flash cm7, I can be rid of Blur forever...

This was the post I was saying thank you
